Another Sick Day

This morning started off strange.  I woke up about 2:00 and ran to check on the boys.  They were fine so I went back to bed.  I got up a little later and got ready for the day.  I was raring to go when John Michael came running in sick.  He was super sick.
Brandon took Danny on to school and I stayed home with little man.  He broke my heart litterally laying around all day, he finally held down a watersicle about 2:00.  I had to leave for work, but Brandon was here with him.
Danny had his first basketball practice so it was a long day at school.  We got home about 8:30.  It will be our standard time for Monday and Friday nights, but we love this time of the year so it is all good.
Today I am thankful that my baby is feeling better and that a little stomach bug is all we have had to deal with  when so many people have so many bigger threats on their plates.

Christmas Parties and Emergencies Rooms

So today was my mom's Christmas party so I spent most of the day baking so that she would have some deserts, especially since that is what I was asked to bring. The elves were awesome enough to make the fudge that I needed made last night. I love it when they help out!

Since the elves made the chocolate fudge I was able to make peanut butter fudge. We also made egg nog cookies, which are amazing! We even made chocolate chip cookies. All of the baking brought me to the realization that a new stove really was going to mean I had to learn to bake again, my times were all off. But I am getting back on track. We also melted some white chocolate, dipped marshmallows in it and then dipped them in sprinkles. These were so much fun for the boys.

Danny's knee was not looking better and the red was starting to spread by the time we headed to moms. Laurie was still there fortunately and she kept a close eye on it. Mom's party is always nice because we are able to get together and enjoy each other. My Godparent's are also there, and they mean so much to me, I wish that we saw them more. After watching Danny's leg and overall temperament we knew we had to call the doctor, we were trying to make it till in the morning so we could see Dr. Lytle. When the nurse finally called me back, I had to call twice, they said to take him to the ER.

When we got to Children's there was nobody there. We never even sat down in the waiting room. We went straight to a room the nurse was there in a few minutes and said the doctor would be right in, but then the ambulances came and right in turned into almost three hours before we saw the doctor, then there was another hour because she got another doctor's opinion and did an ultrasound of his knee. She lanced it and gave us antibiotics for the cellulitis (sp?). Now we wait and see and pray! Danny was so brave and I am so proud of him!

We left the ER and got John Michael's from my mom's and finally got home after an extremely long day.

Spring Break Thursday and Happy St. Patrick's Day

Spring Break is almost over and I have to admit I am a little sad. I do not feel like we have done anything really. I wanted to go somewhere so bad, and so did the boys. Next year I will have to plan better and try to save so we can make a trip, even if it is a short one.

Today was also St. Patrick's Day. I love this holiday and I think it is because it is all fun. Unfortunately there was no green beer for me. I thought about adding some food coloring to my wine, but decided against it since it was just me and the boys. Brandon got home not that long ago from his long day at work.

The boys and I dressed in our green, I had to shield us from the pinching leprechauns! We had a fun day. Danny got some new shorts. He had none. Well, one pair that I bought him before a birthday party a few weekends ago, but that was it. The downside to cleaning out the closets. I also took the boys to CVS, they have been begging to go. Danny got a telescope, if he is still into it we have a nicer one that we got a few years ago put up for him. It might workout for Christmas this year. John Michael got Play-Doh and a zhu-zhu puppy. Boys will be boys. They had a blast playing. I felt like they needed a special surprise.

I did manage to lay out for about thirty minutes. Not long but definitely some much needed Vitamin D. I so love the sun. I am hoping to get at least an hour in tomorrow, but we shall see. I also finished editing one set of the three I have to do. While I was laying out I started to read Charlie St. Cloud. I have wanted to see the movie for a while, but had to read the book first. Well, I have read it all, could not put it down. All I know is I need a new box of tissues before I get the movie, I used the one I had with the book.

After playing with the new goodies it was baseball time! Seems like that is going to be a major part of my life through at least May. Again it is a good thing I love it! John Michael had another night of watching his brother, he doesn't have practice until Saturday morning. He brought a few things to play with and was great.

We came home to look at the moon for a little while with the new telescope then showers and bed time. Now it is almost midnight and I am headed to bed! Before I go to bed I will be praying for all of my friends and family. I am also saying a special prayer tonight for several people. One is baby Jemma who is continuing to improve every day. The second is for my friend Terri. So many things happen and while they might seem small they can also seem like mountains that we must climb. Know that all mountains can be climbed, but do not ever go alone. Arm yourself with God, and with the support of family and friends. I love you all! Thank you for always making my mountains seem smaller.

Flying Ace

Well, today was a gorgeous but cold Tuesday. I had a lot to do, but am glad to say that I was able to get our taxes completed, they are being reviewed now, and then I will file them. I felt like it was worth it to pay the extra with the business included. I cannot wait till I actually have gains instead of losses. 2011 is a year of great blessings so this could be one of them.

John Michael had a great day at school. They had a dentist come to visit them, and this really made his day. I have to say I am glad that he liked his visit, now maybe he will be excited when we go visit the dentist. I plan to call tomorrow to make appointments for us to get cleanings.

Danny also had a great day, but his was slightly longer than his brothers 8:30-2. Danny was at school at 7:45 and he was there until 7:30. It appears that 12 hours at school is playing a toll. He was exhausted when he came home. We did get homework done though, we will redo the spelling test practice in the morning though, he was falling asleep writing. We did have a few minutes of fun with his airplane gun though, that I am now calling Flying Ace. That little thing moves!

Tomorrow Monica vs the House starts playing again and the episode will feature John Michael's room, this includes drawers and closets. Recaps will be available on tomorrow's blog.

Well, definitely not before 9...in fact almost tomorrow is more accurate, but it is all good as I got to spend some time with my best friend. She is the one who knows too much and I do not have to talk to daily to know that she is there, and the same goes for her. Very few people stay in your life and have the impact that she has had on mine. I love you Amy and thank you for everything!

Before I go to bed, I will be remembering you all in my thoughts and in my prayers. Many intentions have been on facebook, or sent through e-mail or text and you should all know that they are never ignored! While I often wish that I could do more for those I care for, I always will pray that the situation becomes what you most need and desire.
