My House Is Wet

So today was out of uniform day for the boys!  It is a little extra that they get when we attend the home and school meetings.  I enjoy going to the meetings anyway, but this day for them makes it so worth it even when I have 1000 other things to do.  I love the little things that make them light up the way that children do.
I was pretty productive today even with the rain and the desire to curl up with a blanket and a good book.  I am reading the Sookie Stackhouse series right now.  I am seriously thinking I am going to have to by the True Blood seasons on Blu Ray.  I figure that will be cheaper than HBO.  We will have to see.
After school today the boys and I rode out to the new house.  While they did not do anything today because of the rain it was great to see it again.  I am so excited and I love the fact that they are too!  The boys were tickled that it rained in the house even though there is a floor upstairs.  It was too funny.  I cannot wait to see what they get done tomorrow.  I hope that it is the rest of the floor and the walls upstairs!
John Michael's game was canceled because of the rain.  We really needed it though so I am definitely not complaining!  In fact since I did not have to water the plants it was great in my opinion.  It is the little things again that make me so happy.
My dear friend Aubrey had her baby girl today.  I hated that I could not get by the hospital but with it being Brandon's late night I sure did not want to take the boys.  Hopefully I can get by there tomorrow.  Maybe Brandon and I can do that after we drop the boys off.  Along with the 1000 other things that we need to do.

School Picture Day

So there are reasons to smile about school picture day for the boys and it is not because of the camera that comes out.  The boys (Well everyone) gets to dress out of uniform, which makes for some great grins!  It is funny how special these little things are to them all.

Danny had a game at Center Point at 6:00 and John Michael had a game at 6:00 at Clay.  I do not like it when I have to miss one of my boys' games.  Mom went to see Danny's and Brittany came to see John Michael.

Danny's game was a great one from what I understand from my text updates!

John Michael's game was a great one too and John Michael ended up with the game ball, which absolutely made his day.  In fact it might have made his season!  He did great though and I was definitely proud of him!

Out of Uniform Day and Movie Night

Well today was a great day. The boys were so excited about going to school and wearing their regular clothes. Danny is used to it, they get to do this a few times a year, but for John Michael this was his first school day not in uniform. Danny of course went all comfy with his basketball clothes, John Michael went all SuperHero with his Batman shirt and jean shorts. I love the fact that they are their own people. I have tried to give them some independence so hopefully they can see that too. Or at least will be able to when they get older. They both had great days at school. It was show and tell day and for the letter S....Spongebob was in John Michael's backpack.

We were going to go to the lake, but we have so much to do around the house and with the weather not looking too promising we decided to stay home this weekend. I keep telling myself that was probably best. We will head to the lake soon though. I like going in the fall and even winter. Even though you cannot swim it is still a lot of fun, and usually gives us time to work up there.

My heart aches today for the family I have been asking you all to pray for. Cali came off life support today and has gone to play with the angels. I know that she is in God's hands and that she is happy and healthy now. The hole is always on earth. I pray that the family stays strong in their faith, they are truly amazing people. Cali was a blessing while she was here and I know that her story will continue to touch so many.

We decided that we wanted to cuddle with the boys tonight. So we decided movie night. The boys picked Days of Thunder whichI like a lot and Brandon, well it is one of his all time favorites! It was a great family night. I did a lot of reflecting and praying.

Well, I cannot post until tomorrow, I still have to upload pictures. :) But I hope that everyone has had a wonderful day and has an great long weekend.

Stormy Friday

So today there is no progress report because I did nothing. I am not sure if I am getting sick or what, but I listened to my body and just relaxed most of the day. Needless to say I think I am going to e-mail the school about adding a week or 2 into my break. I think I could use it to say the very least.

Danny got out of school early today. They let out at 1:00 but I ended up checking him out about 12:30, things just seemed to be getting too bad too close and way too fast. It was also their picture day and he looked so handsome this morning. We had a nice day at home seriously doing nothing.

Before we went to get him though a stray storm came up and it hailed....hard. John Michael was amazed so pictured had to take place. He kept saying he did not know it would Snow in the Spring. I assured him it was not snowing and when it was over and covered our back deck we let him pick up a piece and see for himself that it was truly ice. He thought it was pretty neat and could not wait to tell Danny.

My brother in law is visiting his amazing woman in Tuscaloosa and so Brandon was keeping up with them. He said that there was damage a quarter mile from them on either side but other than no power they were okay.

Listening to the news and weather I know that there was at least 1 death in the state and several injuries, and know that my prayers are with all of these people. Also with those who had damage of any kind. I hope that everyone stays with the local news as they are still on and covering these storms.

I am off to bed. Before I go I will be praying for all of my family and friends. Also, I am praying for anyone affected by this storm including the dedicated meteorologists who have been on air all day. While I am sure people missed a show or whatever know that the thousands saved by these men and women are more important than any show ever could be. Stay safe and thank you for all that you do.

Report Cards, Baseball and Busted Lips

Today was John Michael's last day of school before Spring Break. Needless to say he was excited. He was not thrilled that the beach was not in our plans. If we had the means though it would be! He is so much like me when it comes to the beach...LOVE IT!!!

Danny has tomorrow to go but did get a special out of uniform day for raising over $35 for Jump Rope for Heart. It was also 3rd quarter report cards. I was so proud of him. He is reading over 100 words a minute and had all A's and 2 B's. His Conduct and all that jazz was superb. All over the board a VERY happy momma and daddy! BTW...if he was in public school it would be all A's. Tougher scale in private school which is good.

Tonight was Danny's first baseball practice. It was great to be back on the fields with my boys. It would have been better had it not been so bitterly cold. Danny did great, and was really glad to be back out there. Tonight's was a basic practice just to get the boys back in the swing of things.

John Michael fell after practice and busted his lip. It is so swollen, and just breaks my heart. I hate it when the boys are hurt, and for him to have cried as long and as hard as he did I know that it hurt. It looks like there is a possible black eye too, but I guess we will have to see what the morning brings. I just hope that it does not hurt anymore. He has his first practice tomorrow night.

So it seems that there is some flooding taking place at the lake so after we drop Danny off at school we will be heading that way. If it is not here it is there. What can you do though?

Well it is after 10 again, and I am just now heading to bed but it is what it is. Maybe I should start aiming for 10 instead of 9....things to think about. Tomorrow is my last day in my 20's so I am planning on having a good day and am really looking forward to scrapbooking with Amy! It has been too long and I am so far behind! Anyway. I am off to bed. Before I go to bed I will be praying for all of my friends and family. I am also saying a special prayer for my friend Terri....she needs a "Hey I am ok."
