Butterfinger Cake

Today was another great day full of family and friends.
Mom cooked veggies and Teresa, Dale, and Meemaw came over around 1:00 to eat.  While I am not a fan of the cabbage and the squash, the okra was SO good!  They stayed for a while and it was nice just to sit around and talk and watch the Olympics.
After they left I got back to work in the office while we waited for Amy and Terry and the kids to come over.  I did not get much done, but I managed to get the Christmas gift cabinet where it goes and most of the presents in it.  YAY for some sort of progress.  I do think that I am going to need another one of these though since it is full and I have two more guft boxes to unpack!
Amy showed up with a butterfinger cake in hand.  Let me just tell you WOW!  It was definitely one of the best deserts I have EVER had.  Thank you so much.

The kids had a blast.  Danny and Sasha went on adventures looking for paw prints, and what they found were hoof prints from what I assume is a deer.  I love the fact that the back yard is like the Discovery channel LIVE!  We also went swimming for a little bit which as always was nice.  The kids had a really good time.  Brandon ended up with a migraine, so he was in bed early.  Hopefully he will feel better in the morning.

Waterproof Camera was in Full Use Today

The boys and I were up at 7:30 again this morning. This is a good thing as it means that I had my coffee before 8! I was also watching the waves before 8. When these two things are put together it was some serious bliss!

The waterproof camera, which I got out yesterday and it died after about 10 minutes, was fully charged and in high demand today. I love my professional camera. I use it non stop at the beach but having it all day by the water makes me nervous, this camera is the perfect solution. We went and got a new floaty strap for it yesterday since mine was nowhere to be found. This was a great added bonus, as I do not have to worry about dropping it either.

So there are these huge shrimping like boats out and they just run back and fourth. Last year these were used for the oil. Well they have not stopped since we have been here and I am thinking they are there to keep the oil from reaching the coastline. I am not 100% but that would be my guess since I have never known them to shrimp right there. When Brandon and I go to Tacky Jacks we will have to see what we can find out since that is where the fishermen are always. I am seriously wanting some seafood so I hope that we go sooner than later.

The boogie boards were used all day today, from 8:30 (that's about when we got down there) until 5. It was great. The kids are also working on a little pool reserve, but they are trying to get the main hole deeper and the river dredged out. They are cracking me up with their imaginations. Danny and Michael played baseball while Isabella and John Michael made baseballs with sand and then threw them down the beach. It has been so rewarding watching all of these kids have such a good time together.

Brandon shocked me today. He is always under the tent and he told me to turn around, I am always in front of the tent in the sun. When I did he had backed up and was in the sun. While he was not fully comited his feet were still in the shade I was amazed. I did not know that he had it in him.

Tonight's dinner was some seriously delicious veggies. We had corn, peas, potatoes, okra, onion, tomatoes, and even some BBQ. It was delicious. The kids continued to play after dinner. We got John Michael in about 8 for shower. Danny and Michael watched Kicking and Screaming. Danny is actually headed to bed right now. Momma is not long behind him. I am ready to get up in the morning and spend another day on the beach.

Know that tonight you are all in my prayers! Even if you are not on vacation know that everyday can be full of new adventures and so many blessings. Peace Out!
