Fine Art

Today was a great day.  Brandon and I got up at 6:30 and went to work.  He fixed breakfast for us all.  Bacon, Sausage, Pancakes, and eggs for him and the boys.  It was definitely good and I was super thankful for the great start.  The boys were excited too, eggs are Danny's favorite and pancakes are John Michael's so everyone was very happy with the breakfast.
After breakfast we headed to see the new house.  We have not been all weekend.  We were so excited to see that the sheetrock guys had been back and did a great job with the huge holes that had to be fixed.  They missed two, one in our bedroom and one by the return vent downstairs.  They had hung the mirror in our bathroom which was great to see but the other bathrooms still did not have theirs.  I am guessing sometime this week.  They had also sanded the floors upstairs so hopefully the carpet and new pad will be down soon.  So many things so very little time.  It will all get done though, especially if the contactor's will get their act together.
We came home and Brandon got to work on editing a wedding and I got ready to go to a bridal shower.  I was helping to host it and it was at the Birmingham Muesem of Fine Arts.  I have to say the place was perfect and Brennah was stunning as always.  Vickie, my cousin, has so much creative ability in her one hand that the shower was perfect, a little southern charm for the California Girl!  It was great and I am so glad that I was a part of it.  I am also sorry that Julie was unable to fit the artichoke picture in her purse, maybe a smaller one will work better.
I came home to dinner on the table.  It was a nice change of pace for me not to spend the day in the kitchen.  Brandon was able to get the wedding almost done, which is nice because then we can get the rest of the office packed up.

John Michael has swimmer's ear so he was up and down all night.  I am hoping he feels better in the morning, this is the first time we have been through this and since I am still paying off medical bills from his last surgery I am really hoping we will make it through this without a trip to the ENT.

Third Place! Go Cougars!!!

So today is always a bittersweet day.  It is Father's Day.  Father's Day is always special because Brandon is an amazing dad.  It is a day that makes me miss my daddy so much.  He was amazing and truly my hero.  I know that he would be so proud of these boys and that he would love nothing more than spending his day with all of us, especially at the ballpark.  My dad was a huge part of me and I miss him so much.  There is a hole in my heart that was left when he left for Heaven, and while I know that he is happy and healthy there is still a very selfish part of me that wishes he was here.  A little chat and a hug would be amazing.  To my daddy and to my amazing husband Happy Father's Day!
We spent our Father's Day at Huffman ballpark.  It was great. Our frst game was against CenterPoint.  We won 17-12. I  was so proud of the boys.  They played great and they are now 3rd.  Immediatly after game 1 we played Pinson again.  This is the same Pinson team we played Thursday night.  They won 20-12.  So we finished this tournament in 3rd, which is awesome.  I am so proud of all of these boys.  They played hard.  We do have one coach who seems to want Danny to hold the ball.  I understand he has not played with Danny before, but defensively Danny can make the plays.  Many catchers cannot and if he is paired with the right infield.  Sorry, I needed to vent.  I am over it sort of, my baby loves baseball and he truly believes that one of his coaches hates him and that is not the case.  Anyway.  I think overall our coaches are amazing.  When you see teams like the Pinson team, whose coach yells and cusses and argues with everything I again am so thankful that we are at Clay where overall the coaches want the boys to do well, but more than that they excel.
We headed home and I have edited a little more and am about to head to bed.  I am exhausted, and I need to rest as this week is going to be non stop!  I am so ready though.  Regionals here we come!

Suprise

This morning Brandon headed off to work so that he could be there by 6. The best part was he was home before 10! He only had to work a little over three hours today. When he hits 40 hours he is off and today that happened early! It was a great surprise for me and for the boys, who were out of school today for Holy Thursday. What I did not know was this was the first surprise today, there are more to come.

I had a photo shoot but thanks to the weather it seemed best to cancel it. I probably was for the best since it started raining around 10 and it was at 10:30. The bottom fell out, but soon after the sun came up which was nice. Since the clouds had been pretty heavy for the past 2 days seeing some sunshine was nice.

UPS came this afternoon and brought me a box from FTD florists. It was from my amazing husband of 9 years and 364 days, tomorrow is our 10 year anniversary. He has always known how to make me smile and today he definitely did that. There was a very cool purple vase and once I finally got to them, the most amazing roses I have ever seen. They are rainbow roses and they are gorgeous! I plan to photograph these babies everyday so stay tuned! Definitely the most gorgeous roses I have ever gotten! I love my man for so many reasons, and these just added to it.

The boys both had games tonight. John Michael at 6:00 and Danny at 7:30. Well, John Michael made it to the second inning and the game was called. The weather got nasty fast, but did not last too long. We ended up getting to come home pretty early which was nice. I love baseball, but tonight I was tired and really just wanted to be home with my three men, and well my roses ;)

So I am off to bed, tomorrow is a day off, but it is a day filled with stuff to do including somehow celebrating 10 amazing years!

Happy 30th To the Love of My Life

Today my amazing husband turned 30 years old. It is amazing when I think about the fact that we have known each other for over half of our lives and I have loved him for half of mine. We met when we were 14 years old. The first time we dated we were 15 years old and I knew then that he was my heart, my better half, the person who truly completed me. Well, he needed a little more time than me to figure that out so we went our separate ways. We stayed in touch on and off through the next few years and then we were on and within a few months engaged and then married. Brandon has made my 20's amazing. At 20 - He proposed. At 21 - We were married. At 22 - We had Danny. At 25 - We had John Michael. Each year has been so important and there have also been some hard times that I know I would have never made it through without him. I cannot wait to see how remarkable our 30's will be. I will join him Saturday in the 30's for now I plan to enjoy my last days in my 20's.

I thank God everyday for the many blessings that He has given to me. Each day is a new blessing and I know that He is responsible for everything that is good in our lives. I cannot wait to discover each blessing that comes in our 30's and beyond. I have grown closer to God and am more comfortable with my faith and I know that it is because of having such an amazing husband.

This morning we sang happy birthday to Brandon and then tonight I surprised him with one of Amy's famous peanut butter cakes (thank you so much Amy and as always it was delicious). The boys also had to give him birthday spankings which was too funny!

Well, it is after 9, but not too late. I am headed to bed since both boys are finally asleep. Before I do I will be praying for all of my friends and family just as I do every night. If you are blessed enough to have your significant other with you make sure you say I love you to them tonight and everyday!

Dromaeosaurus

Danny's dinosaur project was due today, and he chose the dromaeosaurus for his dinosaur. The thing about this guy is they are still learning about him and so resources were very limited. It is all good though, he had a blast doing it. And before anyone can ask I am not one of those mom's who does his projects for him so that they are amazing. I ask him to do his best and in my opinion they are always amazing. We used one of the three way boards and he printed a few pictures and then wrote several facts about this guy. For instance he was about 2 feet tall to his hips, 6 feet long from his head to the end of his tail, and only weighed about 30 pounds. The fossils that have been found have been found in Canada and Montana, USA. Then he made a dinosaur track cookies, using what he guessed the footprint would have looked like. He made a giant chocolate chip cookie for the ground and then chocolate sugar cookies for the prints. He did great and I was so proud of him.

John Michael stayed home today. He was so tired and ill, and I was determined he was going. Then he started in on his tummy hurting. I know he was full of it, but told him if he stayed home it meant doing NOTHING today. He was not happy that I seriously meant no Wii, but he survived and is excited about going to school tomorrow, especially since his Nana is picking him up.

Today is Brandon's last day in his 20's. He is not exactly thrilled about turning 30, but knows there is nothing he can do. He cracks me up. I love him more and more everyday and I am not thinking a number will mean anything more than more love! I have cherished our 20's since we spent them together and I cannot wait to spend our 30's together. Well, more on that tomorrow!

Well, it is after 10 and the boys are finally asleep so I am about to follow behind. I am exhausted! Before I go to bed I will say a prayer for all of my family and friends. Please say a special prayer for my amazing man who might need an extra pat on the back tomorrow.
