One Week Later

Well the  boys and I were still down today.  So we were all home again.  It is probably better safe than sorry with the boys especially since Danny's class is going to sing Christmas carols at the nursing home.  I know that he wanted to go, but I also know that sharing this crud with the elderly would have been horrible.

Boosterthon Fun Run

So today was CRAZY! It never seems to fail that on Run I am wild with things to do.
I dropped the boys off and then headed to Morris Avenue.  A family in my neighborhood wanted some family pictures and some pictures of their youngest son who was one today!  Happy Birthday Luke.
After this session I headed to Temple Beth-el to take some family pictures for a family whose middle son will be having his barmitzha tomorrow.  I am 31 and I do not guess I have ever been in a Jewish temple, but it was definitely my loss.  It is absolutely gorgeous.  There is so much tradition and history and beauty inside the doors.  This was definitely a blessing for me.
After this I hauled rear end to the school to get there before Danny's fun run.  He was running from 12:30 - 1:30 and John Michael was running after him from 1:30 - 2:30.  I made it!  I love the fun run, it is really a great time and I think that every parent should go at least one time.
After the run I headed to the gym to get ready for ASC.  No sooner than I walked in the doors I got a call from the office.  Danny was sick.  Of course I found out that they ate 20 minutes later did the fun run and then had a pizza party.  I probably would have been sick too.  Non the less I went on and checked him and John Michael out and we went home to relax and hopefully feel better.
John Michael had to get ready for his soccer game at 7:30, which is really late.  They evidentally were having a festival, but there was no food left for the last games.  Go figure.  This whole BUSA experience has been a serious JOKE!!!!  John Michael did get the game ball, he was so excited and we were so proud of him!

Ash Wednesday

Today was a crazy Ash Wednesday. I enjoyed going to Mass with my boys. There is something so special about all of the school Masses, but Ash Wednesday is always so special. I wish that Brandon could have come with us, but I know that he has to work.

Around lunch time I got a call from the school that Danny was sick. I headed to get him, and went on and got John Michael too. He was excited to check out, but did not like that Danny was sick.

Danny never got sick again, but stayed in the chair all day and night. Tomorrow is John Michael's birthday and I teased Danny about going to a lot of trouble to get out of school for his brother's birthday. We watched the Ten Commandments. We got it on Blu Ray and Danny has really been wanting to see it but it is a rare day that we have that much time to sit down and watch a movie.

I cannot believe that it is John Michael's last day to be 5. The picture is his last 5 year old picture. It is definitely one of those bittersweet moments.

Brandon had a leader's meeting for scouts. I would have been but needed to stay home with my sick little man. It went great though, which I knew that it would. Now to get ready to end the scouting year with a bang and start next year.

The Hidden Blessing

Yes, that is what I am looking for today, the hidden blessing that I know is here somewhere.
So my day started better than on time it was actually a little early. I got Danny up and he headed straight for the bathroom, he never got sick but was persistent that he felt like he was going to. He felt warm so I put him back in the bed. I got John Michael up next and it was the same complaint. So I called Brandon and told him we were home today. I called the school and told them we were staying here and asked them if they could get Danny's work together.
I thought I would use the time and get caught up and maybe ahead on some things that I have happening especially with all of the sessions that I have had. Well, my computer was just not cooperating so here I am still behind. It is frustrating to say the least. It seems to be better now. I sure could use Santa Claus right now.
So Brandon was super awesome and surprised me with my stove tonight. While I knew that he had gotten it as far as I knew we were still waiting on it to come in. So he got Chris to come over and help him get it in, thank you again Chris. Anyway, they were bringing it in and whether it was broken when it came out of the box or broken on the trip in the glass on the top oven door broke. The good thing is it is under warranty, but who knows if they will cover it. The glass is just for looks, so I am not sure if they can just send another piece or if I can even use it without it. All I know is I am a little sad and trying not to be. Again Santa can you hear me?
So you add these two problems to some others and I am just hoping for money in my stocking...and under the tree, and anywhere else.
Well, I am done venting and I know that there is a blessing in today. The sun did come out for a little while, which was great.
Hopefully the boys will be in bed soon! Good night to you all and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

I love what I Do!

So I have always been told that to be truly happy and successful in your career you have to do what you love. This is so true!
Today I had a newborn session with the stunning Zarah Laia. To find out more about this session follow my blog at www.monicaannephotography.com I will say that it was a great session. I have enjoyed getting to know her mom and dad and I hope that we are able to have a relationship that was built through photography. Zarah definitely has a piece of my heart!
Teresa came and stayed with the boys, and I appreciate it so much! Mom was supposed to be going out of town, but she did not. It looks like that will be next week. We shall see. The boys seem to be great and will definitely be back in school tomorrow. YAY!

Welcoming November with ....

The Stomach bug. Yep, everyone in the house ended up with the stomach bug. I have managed to steer clear, and praying that it stays that way. I have photo shoots everyday this month and do not need to have anything slowing me down.

I have been to Publix twice getting Sprite, medicine, soup, and crackers. Fortunately since early this morning everyone seems to be on the mend. Which means back to work and school tomorrow as normal. Praying that this is the track that we stay on.

Today I had a photo shoot with a gorgeous 13 year old. We went to the Aldridge Gardens in Hoover. More on this session on my blog at http://www.monicaannephotography.com/ It was a great session and I am excited about editing them. Starting on them shortly.

Aldridge Gardens is beautiful in the fall. They had a ginko tree that was stunning. Brandon planted one of these for us last year, while it is still pretty much a baby, I hope that it grows to look like this one. I LOVE IT! The size, color, shape, and everything.

I went by the school while I was out and got Danny's work. He had it done in just a little bit. I love the fact that he does not like to be behind. He is so much like me. I prefer to be caught up and ahead when at all possible.

Well, everyone seems to be okay. About to start shower and bath time. Curious to if I can but Lysol in with them. Just joking.

I hope that everyone has a great night. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Also please say a prayer that all is healthy and back to normal tomorrow for the Thach household.

Got Smurfed!

Today we wanted to make the day all about the boys and we wanted to make it a fun day. While we had work we had to get done, there are no days off when you own your own business, we wanted to make sure that we did something with the boys.

We took them to see the Smurfs. I have been wanting to see it since it came out and they have too. I loved the Smurfs when I was little so seeing them on the big screen was great. The boys loved it. Even Brandon seemed to like it. It was funny and really cute! I am so glad that we finally made the time to go and watch it.

When we got home Brandon cleaned my camera lenses. After several outdoor events they were in need of some TLC. I am always nervous about it so I let Brandon have at it. He did an amazing job. Now I am ready for September and the sessions and events that are coming with it.

It also finally rained today. It was a good slow soaking which we seriously needed. It is supposed to keep it up for a few days which I hope that it does. We have been in a serious drought so a few rainy days will be great for everything and everyone.

The boys enjoyed the rainy day and spending some time on the Wii. I do not let them play very much so on rainy days they know I am more generous with the time they have. They even got creative with a box that Danny's backpack came in.

I worked until almost midnight and when I was getting ready to blog Danny man got sick. He never throws up so the fact that he was and a lot I was nervous. He had no fever and seemed okay after a long shower. Hopefully it was just something he ate and not anything serious. I do not like it at all when my men are sick.

Well, I am off. Lots of work and cleaning to do.

Slow and Easy Sunday

So today I had great plans, we were going to get up and head to Mass, then get some errands done then come home and knock out some things. Well, that is not at all what happened.

We woke up and I felt really really bad so I went back to bed. Danny was not feeling great either so I sent him back to bed. The hopes were that we would all feel better. Danny did, but mommy not so much. The thing is as mommy it usually does not matter too much how I feel. I had promised John Michael Krispy Kreme today and he was holding me to it.

Needless to say I caved, but I am a sucker when it comes to my boys and I did make the promise so I held good to it. The boys loved it and I was just glad to get home and back in bed.
