Iron Bowl Memories

This is the game day that every football fan in Alabama waits for.  It is the Iron Bowl.  Alabama vs. Auburn for those of you not from around these parts.  This year was not the year for Auburn though, the score made me pretty sad.  Especially for the players.  Nobody wants to end their season like that. I am sure that changes are coming for Auburn and I know that they will be for the best.  No matter what War Eagle!
Amy, Terry, Sasha, and Connor came over to watch the game.  I had gotten a Home Depot Gingerbread house for the kids to do.  It was meant to be fun and they definitely had fun doing it.  All of us stepped back and watched and let them have at it.  Smiles and memories are what happened at the kitchen table tonight.

Amy also helped me cut material and make the garland for the railings at the house.  I love the way that it turned out.  Who knows maybe I will start to really try my hand at being crafty.  We will have to see.  I have been thinking more and more about a lot of different things and crafting is one of those.  The garland is gorgeous though and I am so glad that I did it.  I love it and so does everyone.  Brandon even hung it for me tonight which was awesome of him.

Four Years in The Making

So today is a day that has been four years in the making. Today is Leap Day! I hope that everyone had a great day.

I started to think that I wish I was more creative or prepared or whatever, so that I could have had something great planned for today. That is my four year goal....make sure that the next leap day is AWESOME! Good thing I have four years to plan that one.

I would love to hear some great ideas for making Leap Day special for a family.

So the headache is sort of on again off again. As long as I am not smelling food I am okay. Considering I was cooking all day it was more of an on again kind of day.

I made lasagna for us and for the Smith family. I hope that they enjoyed theirs as much as the boys in my house enjoyed theirs. I do not think I have seen John Michael eat so good at meal time in a while. YAY! I was just not feeling it so I watched them eat. What can you do.

We had our pinewood derby car distribution and cutting tonight. We had all but a few boys show up so unless requesting otherwise we used a template and cut it out for them and we will get them all delivered next week at the den meetings. I know how much fun the pinewood derby is for everyone involved.

There was a possibility of storms in the area tonight but things stayed pretty calm. There was rain and even a little thunder and lightening, but in comparison it was definitely not as bad as expecting. Now to pray that Friday night stays relatively calm.

Well, I am finally caught up on my blog YAY! A small blessing for an amazing year. I cannot believe that today is the last day of February. WOW! Happy March everyone!

Boat Captains

So today started off with a boat ride, which was nice. Especially since John Michael was determined not to go. I am glad that Brandon insisted, because I was going to be the one staying behind with him. While on the boat Danny and John Michael both had turns being the Captain with Uncle Bill. Danny drove most of the way, and really had a great time. He listened and asked questions and was just really into it. John Michael drove for about 5 minutes, but he still had a good time!

The rest of today was spent swimming and fishing. The boys did not catch anything but it was not for a lack of trying. The last day there is always cleaning day so all the laundry has to be done, and the floors vacuumed, swept and mopped. Lysol counters and all that fun stuff. It is no big deal, but it does cut into play time.

We got everything done and were headed home by about 7:30. It is nice to be home, but I have to admit, I could easily be spoiled waking up to the water every day. It will be about 3 weeks before we can go back, but we do hope to go a good bit even through the fall and winter. Seems sad not too, plus we have a lot of work we want to do when we go and that will be easier when the water is down, and it is a little cooler!

Well, I am off so I can edit and go to bed. First things first, I have to get the boys to sleep. You would think they would be out, but nope still going!

Know that you are all in my prayers. I hope that memories were mad by everyone this weekend. Even if not at the lake, or some other fun destination, a weekend at home can be stacked full of memories too!
