I do wonder if October rain brings anything with it? I guess we shall see.
A rainy Monday morning meant we were running behind, five minutes, and considering the traffic on 59 S through Trussville that 5 minutes is important. Somehow we made it, I am going wilth literally on a prayer.
John Michael decided that his batman umberalla would be a companion for this rainy day and I am sure that it was. When we got to ASC though there seemed to be a need to make this a toy....which meant it became mine. I think he bent it pretty good, but I am not sure. I will have to check it when he is not around just in case it has to become trash. Of course then I will be on an umbrella hunt so fingers crossed that it is okay.
We ad our first Webelos meeting tonight. I thought that Danny would have to miss it for baseball practice, but the fields were too wet so they canceled it. I have to admit I was glad and so was Danny. Just pretty much over it to be really honest. The meeting went great, the boys worked on exercises and played football while I talked to the parents about what we would be working on this year.

Leader's Unite
So this morning was like every morning we were rushing out the door and down the mountain. We made it to school though which is what is the goal every morning.
After I dropped the boys off I headed to the Botanical Gardens with Erica and her beautiful daughter. The session was perfect, classic and unique all in one. Stay tuned to my photography blog for more on this great session.
After the photo shoot I came home and got to work on homework and on getting things organized in the office. There is still so much that needs a home and I just do not know what to do with it. I am going to start taking pictures for eBay and Ashley's list soon and maybe I can get these things to a good home and have a little extra money.
Tonight was the leader's meeting for Cub Scouts. We try to get together once a month to plan out the month and get things ready for the upcoming pack meeting. This next one is going to be our Halloween party, which is always a lot of fun.

Being Pulled
So today started off rainy and I would have loved to have gotten even an extra 30 minutes in bed. It was so peaceful with the rain and the wind. Oh well. Maybe next time....hahaha!
The Tiger Cubs were aving their first den meeting and working on their Bobcat Badges, which is awesome. Of course Danny also had a game. So I was torn in multiple directions, but since I had to miss Danny's game Sunday I knew where I needed to go. Plus I am qualified to get John Michael ready for his Bobcat so that part will be easy enough to make up to him. I do not like being pulled though, but it happens especially with more than one and both of them being involved. And I am thankful that they are so involved.
Everything just sort of went chaotic for me for a few minutes while I was at work but I survived. I really do love being at ASC but some days, like today everyone going home early would not have hurt my feelings at all. I guess the rain and being inside all day had them out of sorts today.

Shut Your Pie Hole
So today was a day that I felt like was a spiral of crazy. I am so thankful that it started with Mass with the boys. I love school Masses and am so glad that they are back to my weekly schedule. It just helps me to be centered. There is always chaos in my life and while Mass does not eliminate that it allows me to refocus and regroup. An hour in the middle of the week spent with Jesus and my boys is just what I need.
It was a nice surprise this morning to find that thr 4th grade will be the choir for this first quarter. Well they are splitting it with the 5th grade but still, I love to see my baby boy up there.
After Mass I started running around like a crazy woman. I had a lot to do before 2:30 when I had to be at school to get set up for After School Care.
I headed to the Scout Shop to get the awards that I needed for the Scouts who went to Summer Camp, I also got Danny and John Michael their books for this year. The man at the scout shop was so helpful and we really great with showing me some way to save and make thinsgs for the pack go a lot further. I love nice people who are willing to help others and go out of their way to do more than just a job.
Then I headed to the trophy shop to check on the trophies for the 2011 popcorn sales winners. I ended up having to get one of the other scout leaders Meghan to pick them up as they were not ready. Thank you Meghan and thank you Quality Trophy in Trussville. Everything worked out and the trophies looked SO good. Then to the dollar store to get what I needed for our Popcorn Kickoff with scouts. They had some cute popcorn bowls and things that were perfect for the party. I was also able to get the pie pans that we need for the meeting. I did end up having to go to Winn Dixie for the whipped cream to fill them.
The boys had a great day at school today, which is always good news for momma. They are learning so much and are loving it which means so much to me. I love hearing about their days and what they liked best, what they did not like as much, and what was funny about the day.
This was our last day in the gym this week since there is a craft show that will be taking place. It is all good though, but it would be nice if we could wear shorts.
John Michael had his first soccer practice tonight. He did good and seemed to really have a great time. His team is awesome and he is looking forward to his first game. I do think that we need more practice time but the fields are jammed at SFX so once a week looks like all we can get, at least for now.
Right after soccer was the first pack meeting of the year! I love SCOUTS! This year we are starting off with our popcorn kickoff. This is a great fundraiser for the scouts so if you like popcorn let me know I have some to sell you. To get the boys pumped we had the top sellers from last year throw a pie in Brandon's face. He is the cubmaster and this was one of the prizes for selling over $500. I was going to demonstrate how to do this, but I let John Michael. Amy made us some super yummy cupcakes! Thank you so much!
We came home and mom had dinner ready and waiting. We ate and seriously crashed. It was non-stop but productive and fun.

Scout Night
The boys had a great day at school today! Danny brought home his Thursday papers and to say that I am proud is a serious understatement. He did so good and he was just as happy. He takes school very seriously and I am glad that he has a lot of pride in his work.
After School care was great. It was actually a really small group and since the pre-school had us pretty much confined to the gym it was probably a blessing.
The boys and I headed straight from the gym to the lunchroom for scout night. We had four Tiger Cubs sign up and two more applications went to parents who could not make it. We also got a Bear cub which is awesome. The best part was one of the dad's for the Tiger cubs jumped right in and wants to be a leader, which is awesome. I was prepared to do it if nobody wanted to, but it looks like he is really excited about it. YAY! Of course I will still be involved, but it will be nice not to have to stress about something.
It is never too late to sign up for scouts so if you have a 1st-5th grade boy and you want to sign up for scouting please let me know!

It's Time for Scouting
So it was another great morning, something I am so thankful for.
After I dropped the boys off at school I ran a few errands for mom and then headed to the Aldridge Gardens for a photo shoot with a gorgeous family. It was a great shoot, family and maternity combined into one. For more watch www.monicaannephotography.com it is coming soon, or at least one day. Speaking of my website if anyone wants to help me out with that I would appreciate it so much! Not the blogging, but the actual website.
The boys had a great day at school and Danny was able to get all of his homework done at ASC which is great for me. I worked in the homework room, which I really enjoy. It is great to be able to help the children when they have a question. I love both of my jobs so so very much.
After work we had a scout meeting for the leaders. This is the first one for the year and we decided on a lot including when Scout Night would be, next week! YAY! Then we have our popcorn kick off, and we also have already set up a trip. September is going to be a busy month for scouting so get ready! I am so excited. I am determined to be better about organizing everything this year and keeping it fun for the boys. Did I mention the popcorn sales, that is correct I will be harassing everyone soon! Please help us make this the best year for sales ever! The more that we sale the more that the pack will be able to do.
We got home and the boys were exhausted for that matter so was I. I had a few e-mails to get out and things to get in order, but it all got done! Some days I am not sure that it will, but today was a day where productivity was in the air.

Emotional Overload
This morning I woke up feeling really gross. I attributed it to nerves because there was so much happening. The thing is it never got better so I had to let Aubrey know since I had a session with her and the sweet Willow. I did not want to get Willow sick so I let Aubrey make the call. Needless to say we had to reschedule. When it comes to babies I would always rather be safe than sorry.
This morning I saw the house I grew up in for the last time. It came down today. Definitely no thanks to the City of Clay, but that is a story for another day. I have so much that I want to say about this, but right now there is not enough time and I have to admit, I am exhausted. The flood of memories will flood the blog soon though so beware. The thing is my heart is just sad. So many memories. The good news, memories cannot be torn down, the bad news is that there is no trigger there anymore. Somewhere to drive by and remember that is where I came from. It is just gone now.
Well, it has been a long one and since I am behind I am going to move on.

Danny had his last pack meeting today as a Bear Cub, he is now a Webelo. It has all gone by so fast. I still remember how proud he was to be following in his granddaddy's footsteps when he became a Tiger Cub and got his uniform. Now it is time for a new uniform.
Danny also had his basketball party, which meant a trophy. He was pumped to play some Basketball with his teammates and get an awesome medal for the great year that they had. GO SAINTS!!!
We went by the new house and the electricians were there! YAY Progress!!! Also the porta potty had been delivered for the workers and this was so exciting for the boys, in fact they each had to go before we left.

Just Another Manic What Day?
No not Monday...Saturday!
The past few weeks we have been so busy on Saturdays that we do not know when they start and when they end....this week was no exception!
Only Danny had a game.
Again it seems that on Saturday every single team should be playing at the ballpark. I get that some teams might have to play twice, but that is okay. They all should play. We should be at the park from morning till dark. Maybe the park will grow some and next year that will happen. Maybe they will put me on the board so I can have a say. I was elected 2 years ago but then they decided to go a different route and not have an elected board. Mainly because the City wanted control. Stupid, if you ask me. Anyway enough about all that.
Danny's game went good. There were some bad calls, but whatever. They played a great team and they lost. Maybe next time. I do hope that they get at least one practice in this week.
We missed Brian and Christen's couple shower, but they know (I hope) that we love them. We wished that we could make it but circles is what we ran today! We love you both!

The cub scouts were camping out todanight at Zamora so we were running back and forth until after we were done at the park to make sure that all was well. It was so awesome to be at Zamora after so many years. I have a lot of really awesome memories there! The cub scouts made some today too! They are working on getting the pool open, so swimming did not happen. Well some managed to get in the lake. LOL! It is so great to see my boys making memories and having fun at the smae places where I spent so much time growing up. They fished, they ate, they cooked smores, they played on the play ground, they all had a blast. I hope that everyone really did so that we can do this more often. It was so simple to work with the Shriner's and it was great to be there. Anyway, I will work on getting feedback next week and I will make it all happen again soon I hope!

Pinewood Derby
Every Cub Scout looks forward to the Pinewood Derby. Their parents are usually just as excited, this year was no exception. I love this race, and we are considering making it a fundraiser this fall to help us get a new track. We need some other ideas too, so if you have any please share them.
This year the race was quite possibly closer than others, it is great to see the boys get so excited. Of course there are always tears, which breaks my heart. Overall there are more smiles, cheers and laughter than anything.
We let the siblings race after the scouts which is always fun for them too! It is great to see so many kids having a good time.

Four Years in The Making
So today is a day that has been four years in the making. Today is Leap Day! I hope that everyone had a great day.
I started to think that I wish I was more creative or prepared or whatever, so that I could have had something great planned for today. That is my four year goal....make sure that the next leap day is AWESOME! Good thing I have four years to plan that one.
I would love to hear some great ideas for making Leap Day special for a family.
So the headache is sort of on again off again. As long as I am not smelling food I am okay. Considering I was cooking all day it was more of an on again kind of day.
I made lasagna for us and for the Smith family. I hope that they enjoyed theirs as much as the boys in my house enjoyed theirs. I do not think I have seen John Michael eat so good at meal time in a while. YAY! I was just not feeling it so I watched them eat. What can you do.
We had our pinewood derby car distribution and cutting tonight. We had all but a few boys show up so unless requesting otherwise we used a template and cut it out for them and we will get them all delivered next week at the den meetings. I know how much fun the pinewood derby is for everyone involved.
There was a possibility of storms in the area tonight but things stayed pretty calm. There was rain and even a little thunder and lightening, but in comparison it was definitely not as bad as expecting. Now to pray that Friday night stays relatively calm.
Well, I am finally caught up on my blog YAY! A small blessing for an amazing year. I cannot believe that today is the last day of February. WOW! Happy March everyone!

Blue and Gold
Today was a busy day for mom and me, but it was a good day.
Tonight we had our Blue and Gold for Cub Scouts. It is a great day as we celebrate the birthday of scouting, which is actually the 8th of February.
We had a pot luck dinner, and it was wonderful. Even though I was too busy to eat all of the boys' and their parents were able to eat. There were hot dogs, BBQ, chicken of many sorts, macaroni and cheese, cookies, brownies, chips and dip, and so much more.
The Wolves and the Bears both earned their advancement badges, which is great news. Now we can enjoy the rest of the year, and concentrate on having fun and earning elective points. I was super proud of the boys they have worked really hard. I also appreciate their parents and all that they have done to get them to meetings and help out.

Bible Bee vs. Den Meeting
Today started with Mass with the School which is always a great way to get through the week, for me it is my chance to regroup and refocus. I enjoy being there with the boys, their school, and Jesus. It is just a good time for me and I think that they enjoy me being there.
So today was the Bible Bee Study. At least I thought that it was so I cancled our Cub Scout den meeting. I picked up John Michael and then drove to the back of the parking lot. About fifteen minutes later I saw Mr. Wright and Danny walking across the parking lot. Evidentally it was the 6-8th graders week for the Bible Bee and they canceled so there was nothing. I was just glad I was not the only parent with the wrong week. Oh well, that is what I get for trying to get on a schedule.
Tonight the Kindergarten classes sent us dinner. It was delicious. It was Kabobs, rice, salad, and chocolate cake from Zoe's.

Cub Scout Christmas Party
The boys' had great days at school. Wednesday is my favorite day because I get to start it with the school at Mass. It is just great for me for many reasons, but more than anything it keeps me some what centered.
After Mass, I headed home to get some work around the house done. It never seems to end and when I got home today I realized just how much I had to get done, so I decided that I would clean out the van. In order to make it through the rest of this week (month actually) I need to be able to use my whole van. Cleaning out my van was a task and made me even sicker because I realized how badly I need to really clean it. Maybe over Christmas break that will happen.
Our Cub Scout Christmas party was tonight so I needed to go find a gingerbread house kit or 2, sugar cookies (not decorated), and decorations for the sugar cookies. I also found some things to add to the gifts I made for my den and some games that they were able to play while we waited for everyone to get to the meeting. I made lime sherbet punch and the boys' loved it. Even the moms and dads did, but the boys were who I was aiming to please. They decorated gingerbread houses and we were able to leave them on display for the school. The boys were excited about that. They also decorated cookies those they ate though. It was a party and everyone seemed to have a great time. It was a fun way to finish up 2011 with the scouts. Ready for 2012 though.
Again tonight it was home, dinner, bath and bed.

Please go away Mac Truck
So this morning I woke up and felt like poo. I am seriously not sure how I got the boys to school and me back home safely. I just said a prayer or three. I could not focus, it was rough. I do not have time for this right now. There is so much to get done. I went on and canceled cub scoouts, which made for a not happy 3rd grader, but there was no way I could have made it through the hour.
Well, we came home and got homework done and seriously had a do nothing night. Something I think we all needed.

Scout Photography
Today was a great day, I have made some progress in the office, which is definitely a good thing. I like Progress.
I started my day off going to Mass with the boys' school. I enjoy being a part of their day and spending it in Mass reminds me that there is not a better place for my boys to be. I enjoy spending the hour with them, with Jesus, and in prayer.
School uniforms are clean and ready to go for the rest of the week. I love the fact that I do not have to worry about what the boys will wear tomorrow. Uniforms are the best! Just another blessing I was counting today.
Homework is done and the boys both brought home basketball registration forms. I knew that Danny was going to play, but John Michael really wants to play too. I guess we will finish soccer and dive in head first to basketball. I am thankful that they are so involved and that they enjoy sports. While it keeps us busy it also is a lot of fun, and adds to the blessings count.
Not sure what to do about my brakes, I desperately need new front brakes and just do not have the money. Anyone out their feel like doing their good deed by doing my brakes? I could use it. I know that it will all work out, but I have no way to swing it, and with all that is going on from this weekend until Christmas having the ability to stop while driving will definitely come in handy.
So today was our second den meeting for October. We are closing the gap on getting the bear badge which makes me very proud. The boys are working hard. We will even be working at the pack meeting next week. This week, we played board games, learned some facts about Tennessee, and learned a little about photography. It was a lot of fun, and again productive. Now if I can find Danny's book so I can see where we are and what we still need that would be GREAT!!!
Well, the boys are in bed, and since it is now past 10:30 I guess I should head there myself. Prayers for you all tonight!

A Day with Family and Cub Scouts
So today is usually Mass day at school. I could have used some time with Jesus and my boys' but the priests are on retreat.
I went and spent most of the day with Amanda and Alexa, which made my day. Alexa is growing so quickly. Watching her and of course photographing her made my day. She is such a good baby and you can tell how much Amanda loves her. I cannot wait to go see her next week when I have my mirrored flexi glass!!! It is going to be a lot of fun! :)
Tonight was Cub Scouts. It was the pack meeting which is always a good time, and tonight there were a lot of awards to be given out, which is always great. It was also the kickoff to our popcorn sales so if you want some amazing popcorn let me know as my Danny man really wants to throw a pie in daddy's face...LOL! Brandon is the cub master so if the boys' sale $500 he has volunteered his face for a pie throw. It should be a lot of fun. It will
obviously have to be an outside treat.
Speaking of treats. Amy, my Cake Makin' Friend, made some amazing cupcakes. Not only did they taste good they looked amazing. They looked like little bowls of popcorn. Everyone loved them! Thank you so much for making the wonderful treat.
Well, I am off to bed. Praying for good results tomorrow. I know that God has heard my prayers and the prayers that all of you have offered up for me. Thank you all and please keep them coming. Know that while I have been preoccupied I have not forgotten about any of you in my prayers.

First Mass
So I love Mass days at school, mainly because I love seeing my little guys in their ties. They look so handsome. :) We did a quick photo shoot at the school. They were not into it, but I was.
I had to go by the Network and let Brandon check my tires. Of course I needed air in all 4 of them. That was pretty frustrating, but at least he was able to get me all ready to go. I headed back to the school so that I could go to Mass with the boys. Even though I cannot sit with them it is nice to have that hour with them during school and at Mass. Such special times.
It was a great Mass. The eighth grade was commissioned as the leaders of school after Mass. It was just a great hour and a much needed one for me.
We still had no power when I left the house again to pick the boys up. I am tired of trying to get anything done in the dark, and I am dreading cleaning out the refrigerator. Sickening, is the best way to describe how I feel about the whole thing. The boys are bored and ill and so is their momma!
We had our first den meeting today after school. We have three new Bear Cubs, I am super excited about that. This meeting we focused on getting them their Bobcat badge...Check! Then we had races in the back for about 15 minutes. They needed to run off some energy. Next week basketball!
We came home and I thought there was a light on, but was not sure. I knew the guys had been working so I thought what the heck and I tried the garage door. I can assure you that I have NEVER been so happy to see a garage door open in my life! YAY for power and kudos to Alabama Power and all of the linemen who helped get power restored. You guys ROCK!
We had lights, and most importantly HOT WATER!!!!
Well, I am still seriousy behind on the blog but by the weekend i will b caught up!

Wild About Scouting
So Wednesday arrived with a vengeance. I have so many photographs to edit, as well as so much work for school, and in the house well I am feeling slightly overwhelmed. Tonight was scout night so I had to be prepared.
The boys had an amazing day at school. John Michael was back on track with green smiley faces, and that always makes me happy. Danny said that he was busy all day but that it was a great day. Hearing how much my boys like school and are enjoying learning truly makes me really happy. I am so proud of both of them.
We got home and it was hurry up and get homework done. As soon as they were done we were back out the door. Headed to get gas (sort of need that to go anywhere) and then to St. Francis for Scout Night.
We were there about 5:30 and had everything set up and ready to go when the scouts arrived at 6:00. I am super pumped about our 8 new boys. Welcome to Pack 357! This is going to be a great year and I planned to start it off right. With Brandon Cub Master and Bear Den Leader and myself as a Committee Member and Treasurer to say I am involved in the planning is an understatement. We have a lot of new ideas for this coming year.
Tonight we kicked off with Ed's Pet World coming and bringing some really amazing friends! We had snakes, lizards, an alligator, tarantula, scorpion, hissing cock roach, and a bird. It was so much fun. I have not held a snake since I was little and that took some serious courage, but tonight I did it again. Better than that is that Brandon, who has a serious snake phobia held one. It was great and I was super proud that he did it for the boys! All I have to say is that sucker was heavy and the guys from Ed's Pet World were holding the other ends of him...needless to say he was a big sucker! I truly appreciate them coming out, it was great and the boys had a wonderful time. I think that the parents did too and so did any other children who came to visit. It was great and while snakes will not be at all of the pack meetings, I hope to have the excitement level just as fun!

Gearing Up
Today was sort of progressive for me but also has me a little more stressed out than I like to be. I am going to continue to pray for answers to what is needed and go from there.
I was able to get Amanda's second maternity session done, check out my blog at http://www.monicaannephotography.com/ for more on that. I was glad to get it done for her though as it looks like Alexa could arrive any day! It is just a waiting for now. Praying for a healthy and happy mom and baby!
The boys had a great day at school, which makes me feel really good. John Michael drew a self portrait and it was so cute! Danny had a lot of homework, but came home and got it done, which really made me feel good. John Michael ended up with a yellow face today, which meant he was in trouble when he came home. He was not happy about it, but did understand. This time it was for talking...no surprise there! At least it was not hitting someone with his lunchbox again. Tuesdays seem to be his yellow days which make mommy a little sad. Hopefully tomorrow we will be back to green smiley faces, those make us all happy. He did get his homework done with no problems. His favorite part of course is reading, which I love to do so that is always great. Today was Dr. Suess "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut." This is a great one! Of course I am a huge Dr. Suess fan, always have been!
I have to get my office cleaned out, but I am also having to focus on the fact that tomorrow night is Scout Night. Hoping for a lot of new guys to join us! Say a little pray for our pack to continue to grow!
John Michael is playing soccer at St. Francis! This is something he has been so ready to do and now is his turn. His first practice is Thursday. With Scout Night tomorrow night, we went tonight and got his shoes. He was so excited, Academy had the shoes, shin guards, and a ball all packaged together. He was so cute, and cannot wait to go to practice. I am really excited too! Probably because he is...soccer is not really my thing, but I can and will learn. He was so funny when we got home and he wanted to try it all on again, and then he wanted his regular socks and could not decide if he should wear them over or under his shin guards....funny guy!
Well, I am off hopefully to bed soon. Going to work on a few pictures and some homework and then get to bed. I have a super busy week on all levels so I am thinking sleep might have to be deprived. Know that you will all always be in my thoughts and prayers.

First Day of School
So school started today, and of course we started it off by running behind. We were not late by any means, but I did not get as much time with them and my camera before school. Oh well, they were on time and that is what matters. They were so ready this morning, and getting them ready was probably the easiest it will be all year. I am very thankful though. I will definitely take each good morning as it comes! I hope for more of them.
John Michael had no problem walking straight to his class. I was teary, but did okay. He is growing up so fast.
Danny was a little hesitant, but I told him not to let what other people say be his judge. He is his own person and should make his own decisions about 3rd grade.
Both of the boys looked so handsome this morning. They can definitely rock the St. Francis Uniform. Brandon and I were definitely the proud mom and dad.
When I came home I worked on getting the Cub Scout calendar together for the year. We are always scrambling and that is not going to be the case this year. My goal for this week is cub scouts, next week I will take the house back over. Today I was able to get the dates written out on paper, and while the den meeting dates may change due to sports the pack meetings will not. I have also started to get trips planned, guest speakers, and popcorn issues all worked out! It will be nice to have this together when the leaders meet up. It will also make it easier for us to meet via e-mail as most details will be worked out instead of going in blank.
The boys' got out at 1 today and I was so ready to pick them up. I could not wait to hear about their day. John Michael said that he loved ordering his lunch and that chicken dinosaurs are his new favorite. He also said that he wants to order more than once a week, that is doable, but will have to wait for next month. He told me all about his teacher, his rules, and his new friends. He also was very proud of the fact that he did his work, and yes it was coloring! Danny said that his day was great. He said that he was worried about nothing! He knows it is going to be a tough year, but also knows that it will be a fun one. Needless to say all good reports and huge smiles.
Brandon wanted us to drop by on our way home so he could be filled in so we did, but on our way I got them both a snack size McFlurry, which made their day! I am just glad I had some quarters in the door pocket so that I could do it for them.
We went swimming at Deborah's for a while. The boys were glad that Morgan Makenzie came out to swim with them, and John Michael told her all about his day! Thank you so much for letting us come over! It means a lot to us all. It was a great way for the boys to unwind.
We came home and homework was done, dinner was eaten, baths and showers were given, and the sweet dreams have started.
