Working From Home

Today after I dropped the boys off I stopped by the workout room.  I have been trying to go every morning.  I cannot wait until they get in the rest of the equpiment.  Right now it is pretty much an eliptical and free weights, which is better than nothing in my opinion.  Then I headed home to get ready for Allee's one month session.  It is so nice to be able to work from home.  Somedays, like today, I just feel more creative and more like me when I am hom and not stressing over getting somewhere by a certain time.  It is just nice.  It is another reason why I love my new house, the old house never would have worked for having people come, and here it works perfectly.
I left and headed to Liberty Park to get the things that we need for our pack meeting.  We are having our Halloween party, but it is complete with awards and several of the boys have  earned them.  Go boys!
When I was on my way to work I realized I forgot the boys costumes and they were supposed to dress up. I feel like such a doop.  Fortunately Amy saved me and made John Michael a zombie.  Danny was okay not dressed up, even though this morning there was a lot of yelling because of costumes.  At least he was okay and not mad at me, hopefully  not being dressed up will not scar him for life.
The pack meeting was a lot of fun and all of the boys seemed to enjoy the snacks and just have an overall good time, which is what we want for them.

Pinewood Derby

Every Cub Scout looks forward to the Pinewood Derby. Their parents are usually just as excited, this year was no exception. I love this race, and we are considering making it a fundraiser this fall to help us get a new track. We need some other ideas too, so if you have any please share them.

This year the race was quite possibly closer than others, it is great to see the boys get so excited. Of course there are always tears, which breaks my heart. Overall there are more smiles, cheers and laughter than anything.

We let the siblings race after the scouts which is always fun for them too! It is great to see so many kids having a good time.

Mass, Storms, Cub Scouts and EWTN

Today we were on time but barely. I have to get some more sleep somehow, but editing and school work have to be done somehow too. I will work on that.
Today was the school Mass. As I have said before this is my favorite part of the week. This week it was a little different. The tornado sirens started to go off which meant the children all had to get back to the school and to their safe places. I was fortunate enough to be able to be there and help the teachers rush the little ones back. It was an experience. When I checked my phone Brandon texted me that there was a tornado at Grant's Mill Road. Not good for business while in Irondale. I was glad to know that my boys were in their safe places. I am also very thankful that they were all ok as the tornado went the opposite way. Still very close. Jesus was definitely present.
While the boys were at school I finished the carpets upstairs. Now just the stairs. Those may wait till this weekend though.
Tonight was the pack meeting for the cub scouts and we had it at EWTN where they all got the tour led by non other than their amazing cubmaster (yep, that would be Brandon). While we were there I saw several familiar faces and was glad to say hello and talk to them. The boys were all excellent.
Well, I am off to bed a little earlier, there is still half an hour before midnight ;) Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers! Please say a little prayer for me as I get ready for Thanksgiving and the kick off to Christmas party :) So excited!

Haunted Cubs

So today was a pretty good day, while I was nowhere near as productive as I would have liked, it was all good though.

It started with the school Mass with the boys. Today's mass focused on listening to the many voices of God and how He sends us messages in many ways. It was a great message and I was super proud of the boys and the fact that they were able to tell me what Fr. Bob said.

As surgery day is getting closer John Michael is starting to get scared. It breaks my heart. I just keep reassuring him that his ear doctor is great and that Mom and Dad will be right there. It was so much easier when he did not realize what was happening. My sweet baby boy.

John Michael ended the day with a green face, which made me so proud. He is such a sweet boy and just has to learn that he cannot always have it his way.

So I have decided that I will learn how to coupon. I do not know that I will ever been an extreme couponer, but I have to be able to save money and to be able to help others would be nice. First step, remembering to get a Sunday paper.

So tonight was the Cub Scout Pack meeting, which was a Halloween party. We wanted the boys' to have a good time and get to wear their costumes. It was a great meeting. We made goody bags for all of the kids, and I want to thank the parents for all bringing candy to add to them. It is always nice to know that everyone helped out. The bags were full!! Thanks to everyone who helped me get them stuffed too! I had done what I could at home, but getting them finished up was concerning me. Thanks to the amazing parents that we have it was done without any problems.

Well, I am off to bed. Know that you are all in my prayers. Brandon is taking the boys' to school in the morning so hopefully I will be VERY productive.

A Day with Family and Cub Scouts

So today is usually Mass day at school. I could have used some time with Jesus and my boys' but the priests are on retreat.
I went and spent most of the day with Amanda and Alexa, which made my day. Alexa is growing so quickly. Watching her and of course photographing her made my day. She is such a good baby and you can tell how much Amanda loves her. I cannot wait to go see her next week when I have my mirrored flexi glass!!! It is going to be a lot of fun! :)
Tonight was Cub Scouts. It was the pack meeting which is always a good time, and tonight there were a lot of awards to be given out, which is always great. It was also the kickoff to our popcorn sales so if you want some amazing popcorn let me know as my Danny man really wants to throw a pie in daddy's face...LOL! Brandon is the cub master so if the boys' sale $500 he has volunteered his face for a pie throw. It should be a lot of fun. It will obviously have to be an outside treat.
Speaking of treats. Amy, my Cake Makin' Friend, made some amazing cupcakes. Not only did they taste good they looked amazing. They looked like little bowls of popcorn. Everyone loved them! Thank you so much for making the wonderful treat.
Well, I am off to bed. Praying for good results tomorrow. I know that God has heard my prayers and the prayers that all of you have offered up for me. Thank you all and please keep them coming. Know that while I have been preoccupied I have not forgotten about any of you in my prayers.

Bear Cubs on the Court

Mass was this morning. I love starting my Wednesday mornings with my boys in Mass. It is such a special time and allows me some time to reflect and pray, which was much needed today.
The boys' had great days today. Again, this is music to a momma's ears. I love knowing that they are happy and that they are learning. They are great boys and I know that the education and attention that they are able to receive at St. Francis is second to none.
The Bear Cubs had our second den meeting of the year today. It was fun. We started the meeting off with the Pledge and then we set some ground rules with the Wolves and the Bears. I took the Bears out to get to work on their badge. Today Basketball. After going over the rules and some drills, they played each other in a quick game and then to the playground to run off some energy. There is a lot to do to get your Bear badge and I hope that we are able to do this. February is our goal. Now to turn my attention to the pack meeting next week...Popcorn time. Should be fun.
Well, homework is finally done, and now for bath time and bedtime. I am hoping for an early bedtime. I am seriously exhausted!
Good night all my friends! Pictures to come tomorrow. I am tired today :)

Pack Meetings and Traditions

Tonight was our pack meeting for cub scouts. It was a great night and strangely enough, we focused on scouting past and the 101 years of traditions that scouting has in America. The boys who are currently in Cub Scouts have not been involved but for a few years, but they have parents, grandparents, and even great grandparents who are involved or have been involved in scouting. I hope to see all of these boys progress and become Eagle Scouts. Scouting teaches them so much about life, God, family, and just doing the best that you can. These are all great boys who have the potential to truly become amazing men!

So I have been working in the house, today was focused on the den, which is also the play room. I have a lot to get done still but I have two bags, two boxes and lots of larger items for the donation bins, and I am not done yet. We will see how much I end up keeping. I am always a little sad when I overhaul this room because the boys are growing up and this makes me face that reality. Getting rid of the old, and making room for the new. It has to be done, but it is bittersweet.

So I heard about Toomer's corner today and I am sad. We were contemplating a day trip to the lake Sunday to inventory what we need to do before the summer. I am considering making that a trip to Auburn now. What to do? I am pretty torn, we really do not have the money for a 2 hour trip, but I do not want to miss seeing the trees one last time. I hope that they can save them. Now, as far as "Al from Dadeville" he sure was a cocky SOB when he called into the Paul Finebaum show so where is he now? He claimed that he did not care that it was illegal, so why exactly is he in hiding? I get that this man is an Alabama fan, but there is no way that he is an Alumni of Alabama or any SEC school. His lack of respect for traditions shows that. I hope that he gets caught and is put in an ORANGE jumpsuit for a long...long time. Furthermore, I am seriously doubting his accusations against Auburn. Why would they have rolled Toomer's when Bear Bryant died? The jersey on the statue maybe. Here is the thing though one of those is almost 30 years old, the other did not do any damage to the statue. A simple removal and it was all cleaned up. I personally would not have spent money on a jersey to gt to a statue. That is not vandalism though, what this guy has done is horrible and completely classless.
The picture is of the boys at Toomer's in December.

Well, I am off to bed. I really thought it would be before 9, but what can I say the news had me hooked with the Toomer's information! Before I go to bed as always I will be praying for my friends and family. I have a special request from a friend who is trying to get a job in this market that is hard so please pray for her, it is down to her and one other person. I will also be praying for the Toomer Oaks! WAR EAGLE!

Cubmaster Swap

Well for anyone who does not know this is Danny's second year as a cub scout. He is now a wolf cub and Brandon has always been the den leader. Tonight he officially became the cub master. He is excited and also a little nervous as it is a new responsibility. He will do great though. The boys love him. We look forward to growing our pack.

At our pack meeting tonight our theme was winter wonderland. It was a lot of fun. The Tiger cubs sang a song, frozen underwear, which goes to the tune of walking in a winter wonderland. It was the funniest and cutest thing ever. It might be my new favorite song, especially with the wonderful weather we have had lately. We even had a faux snowball fight which the boys loved and it allowed them to run off a little energy, which is always a nice thing.

It has been an interesting news day with people getting their panties in a wad because of our openly Christian governor. He ran on his Christian beliefs and I personally think it is a good thing. People seriously need to quit being so sensitive. Political correctness is just another way of saying your feelings were hurt. Guess what grow up!!! People think differently, people are different, that is what makes us all so amazing. If we were all alike life would be pretty dull! Let's all be grown ups and quit acting like babies! The man was in a church when he said it and it is good to be proud of your Christianity.

Anyway. I am off to bed, still not nine like I wanted, but tomorrow is another day! Tonight my prayers will be for my friends and family. I will also pray for those who are offended by prayer. They need it the most!
