Meeting the Builder

This morning started with a rush!  After I took the boys to school I headed home and Brandon came to get me so we could ride out to the new house together and meet the builder.  Brandon had a few things he wanted to talk to him about and we both just wanted to meet him.

We got there and the guys were busy pulling the trusses for the roof up.  It was quite the scary thing to watch and I think I will be baking cookies for those guys tomorrow.  They deserve something, that is a seriously dangerous job.  I am super thankful for them though.

I also noticed someone drew a kitty cat on one of the boards.  I think it is awesome so I am sharing it with everyone.  I am going to put our initials on one tomorrow.

John Michael's baseball game was rained out, which sucks, but I have to admit it was really nice to be able to work on some things that I have needed to at home.  I have several scrapbooks to get ready and I have to finish editing for that to happen and I am actually making progress which is awesome!

Stairs and Dunking Booths

So today was a day that started off with rain and completely changed my plans.  While it was nice to have a somewhat easy day it also means that everything has to be rescheduled, which is not as easy as it may seem.
We went to the new house and we have a framed in fireplace and stairs with temporary tread.  This sounds great and should mean a venture upstairs.  For everyone but me it did.  I made it about half way and froze and had to go back down.  I am not a huge fan of heights but when you add into it open spaces and drop offs I just could not do it.  The three boys had a blast though.  Maybe tomorrow.  We will see.

We headed to the Family Fun Day at St. Francis.  Our plan was to spend the whole afternoon but that was all bloched up.  It was just crazy, but all worked out for the best.  I was so glad to see Amy and the whole Hughes family.  I feel like I have not seen them in months, probably because I haven't.  It has seriously been so crazy, so I was just glad to get a few minutes to catch up in person!
Well, I am off to bed.  Tomorrow is going to be pretty much in fast forward!

Baseball, Barons, & Archways

So today started early and went late, but it was a great day.
We started out with breakfast together at Legends.  I needed to go by there so we decided that we should just east there.  It was definitely a delicious breakfast.
We headed to the house where they were adding the archways to the inside!  I love seeing something new everyday!  We went by so early that even tomorrow should hold a surprise for us!  The pantry could easily be seen and so could the division between the kitchen and the living room.  YAY!!!
Danny had a game at South Eastern at 12.  We got there about 10:40, we had to be there by 11:00.  We pulled up and got a text they were moving the game to 1:00.  Either our schedule was wrong or their schedule was wrong, but either way we waited.  We watched the Green Clay team (Cain's team) beat them and then we stepped in and beat them again.  The boys all played so good.  Danny was on it today, he did not get any fouls but he was ready at home no matter what and he was killing the ball.  Super proud of him!
We were supposed to go to a birthday party.  It was a pool party, which sounded so good.  But with the change in game time and still having to get back we decided to meet them at the Baron's game instead of trying to get the party.  I forgot the gift, but I will bring it to BJ on Monday, we have a game.  The game was great.  The Baron's lost which was a bummer but it was nice just to be out with a group of people.  We all had a good time (at least I think we all did).  Great friends, for adults and kids and that is a combination that cannot go wrong.  Danny caught a ball the last inning, which made his night and then some.  Of course John Michael was not happy, but he will get his one day too!  Happy Birthday Brody!  We had a great time and hope that you did too!

Well, I am off to bed.  Tomorrow is another non stop kind of day.  It is all good though.   I did decide to grab a quick pick of the super moon!  While it is not the best picture it at least commemorates the occasion!

There is an Upstairs!

So today was a trying day.  So much happening that I do not even know where to start so I am going to attempt at the beginning.

Brandon and I took the boys to school and then headed out to start our errands.  There were several of them, but we made it work.

We went to mom's house and got her rosebush from the back.  Brandon and I both love that one.  Landon had gotten hers from the front and he will be taking care of it, which is awesome of him.  Thank you so much Landon for being there for mom it means more to us than you will ever know.  They were going to bring her house down today but the rain yesterday has everything pushed back at least a day. I am praying that everything will work out so that I can be there.  I have a crazy busy week, but it is something that I HAVE to do.  I need the closure, the goodbye, the finality of it all.  I did take a few pictures, here is one by her back door.

We also had a few other crazy things to get done.  Like getting a pot for the rosebush, getting it planted, and trying to get some things accomplished.

After we got the boys from school we headed to the new house where yes we have second floor walls and sheathing.  Still no stairs, I love the ladder that these guys use.  Hopefully the stairs will come soon!  I am not sure what the pecking order is for houses, but I love seeing it happen so quickly.  I think it is GREAT!  They were taking the solar board from the ground to the upstairs so that as soon as they have the beams in they can get started on the roof.  Brandon set up an appointment with the builder Monday afternoon so progress is definitely being made.

We decided on family movie night, but this movie is super long so the boys did not last!  MoneyBall, it is pretty good, but definitely long!

My House Is Wet

So today was out of uniform day for the boys!  It is a little extra that they get when we attend the home and school meetings.  I enjoy going to the meetings anyway, but this day for them makes it so worth it even when I have 1000 other things to do.  I love the little things that make them light up the way that children do.
I was pretty productive today even with the rain and the desire to curl up with a blanket and a good book.  I am reading the Sookie Stackhouse series right now.  I am seriously thinking I am going to have to by the True Blood seasons on Blu Ray.  I figure that will be cheaper than HBO.  We will have to see.
After school today the boys and I rode out to the new house.  While they did not do anything today because of the rain it was great to see it again.  I am so excited and I love the fact that they are too!  The boys were tickled that it rained in the house even though there is a floor upstairs.  It was too funny.  I cannot wait to see what they get done tomorrow.  I hope that it is the rest of the floor and the walls upstairs!
John Michael's game was canceled because of the rain.  We really needed it though so I am definitely not complaining!  In fact since I did not have to water the plants it was great in my opinion.  It is the little things again that make me so happy.
My dear friend Aubrey had her baby girl today.  I hated that I could not get by the hospital but with it being Brandon's late night I sure did not want to take the boys.  Hopefully I can get by there tomorrow.  Maybe Brandon and I can do that after we drop the boys off.  Along with the 1000 other things that we need to do.

Sheathing and Flooring

So today was amazing.

It started with Mass with my boys.  This is something that I seriously needed in the middle of the week.  So many goodbyes happening this week and so many endings.  I am hopeful for the new beginnings that are to come but the finality of so many things is a lot to handle at one time.

I was able to get a decent amount done at the house.  I was also able to get a good bit edited!  I have so much to get done that it is crazy, but it will all happen.  I love the fact that my job is so awesome!  Watch http://www.monicaannephotography.com/ for more on all that I have been working on.

One of my childhood friends has been admitted into the hospital and will be induced in the morning.  I cannot wait to see her sweet baby girl.  I know that she will be amazing as her mom is remarkable.  It seems wild that we are all married with children.  It does not seem like it was that long ago we were making art and lemonade to sell at the stand in our front yard.

We went by the house this afternoon and we had sheathing (sp?) on the downstairs and they were putting the sub floor in upstairs so hopefully the walls upstairs will go up tomorrow.  It was great to walk through the house and know exactly what rooms were where.  The boys thought that it was awesome that they were building their floors as we were walking through.  I have to agree it was pretty neat.  I am getting more and more excited as each day passes and more nails are hammered, more lumber is cut, and more progress is made.

So I am determined to make the rest of the week productive.  I have a bit of an issue with Friday but it is more of a time issue.  I am hoping that I can get it all worked out.  We will see.  I am just saying a little prayer as I need the client to understand what is going on.

Downstairs

So today was one hell of a day.

I managed to get some things organized that  needed to.  I also got some things posted on eBay so hopefully we will start to make some extra money.  We shall see.  I figure every little bit helps.  There are some things we will need for the new house not to mention the fact that I am hoping to get some things paid off ASAP.  Definitely hoping that the "one persons trash is another persons treasure" saying is all too true!

So I have to get this out and then I am done talking about it.  John Michael had practice today and so I talked to his coach about his behavior last night (see yesterday's blog).  Well, it was like talking to a child.  He was degrading and even questioned my parenting.  Anyway, I do not know if it did any good.  I know his wife and her cohorts made sure to talk about it and stare.  Guess what dude is not perfect and if you want to ask me about it ask me.  The thing is for people who think they are so untouchable, they need to wake up and realize that other than their very small group, most people cannot stand to be at the park with them!  Seriously I am so over this team and the way that some of the parents and the coaches act.  I will get through this though.  Three more weeks...I can do anything for three weeks!  Well almost anything!  As long as he does not leave John Michael out any more things will be fine.

Brandon went by the new house before coming to practice.  We have walls downstairs.  At least the lumber!  It is so exciting.  I cannot believe how much has happened in a week and I cannot wait to see how it continues to progress!  So so excited!
