Good Bye August

So I cannot believe that it is the last day of August.  Seriously 2012 has been full of ups and downs and all arounds, but it has flown by.
I am definitely excited that this weekend is a long one.  I need a day with the family and I am hoping we can sort of have a lazy long weekend.  We have things to do this weekend, but they should all be fun.
The boys had a great day at school today.  Danny had an Alabama History project due and he picked Springville to do it on, which I thought was pretty awesome.  He talked about our house, the drive we have, the city itself and most importantly his pop's butcher shop and the king!  For those of you who do not know who the king is please go by The Choppin' block and Springville and find out.
Work was great, the kids were definitely ready for the weekend.  It has been a long few weeks for them I think and the general anticipation of the weekend.
Tonight there was a blue moon, basically the second full moon of the month.  Mom says I am living up to the reputation of the full moon.  I was trying to learn how to howl.  Why not add another skill to the resume.  Plus I am pretty bumbed.  I found out I am waiting three more weeks for a paycheck.  Things are just tight and seem to be getting tighter.  I keep telling myself that this too shall pass, but I also know that I really need to find either another part time job, get more sessions booked, or find a full time job.  I am hoping that I can get some more sessions booked with fall coming up and I have several different specials coming out too.  Prayers that they all drive in some more business.
Well, I am off too bed.  I am super glad that the blog is now caught up, I still have to catch up the other one, but I will get there.  One thing at a time.  I am determined not to stress anymore, and just do what I can as I can.  It all always seems to get done anyway.

So excited about tomorrow!!!

Scout Night

The boys had a great day at school today!  Danny brought home his Thursday papers and to say that I am proud is a serious understatement.  He did so good and he was just as happy.  He takes school very seriously and I am glad that he has a lot of pride in his work.
After School care was great.  It was actually a really small group and since the pre-school had us pretty much confined to the gym it was probably a blessing.
The boys and I headed straight from the gym to the lunchroom for scout night.  We had four Tiger Cubs sign up and two more applications went to parents who could not make it.  We also got a Bear cub which is awesome.  The best part was one of the dad's for the Tiger cubs jumped right in and wants to be a leader, which is awesome.  I was prepared to do it if nobody wanted to, but it looks like he is really excited about it.  YAY!  Of course I will still be involved, but it will be nice not to have to stress about something.
It is never too late to sign up for scouts so if you have a 1st-5th grade boy and you want to sign up for scouting please let me know!

Making it Happen

This morning after I dropped the boys off I hung out at the school.  I was meeting with Michael Wells from the Boy Scouts so that he could Rally the boys and get them interested in scouting.  Our scout night is tomorrow night so the more we can get to be interested the better for our pack, we grow every year and we are looking forward to everything that this year has to offer.  Mr. Wells was great the boys seem really excited and so am I.
I was able to get a good bit done at home, but today was concentrated more on homework and editing pictures.  I have to alternate days so that I can alternate how long I am on the computer each night, it is definitely not easy, but I will be done next year and it will be so worth it.  I hope.
The boys' had a great day at school which always makes my day.  John Michael said that all his first grade friends were excited about scouting.  Danny said that he made a 97 on his Alabama History test, which is awesome since he was freaking out last night while we were studying.  He is a lot like me in the sense that he is his own worst critic. I wish he was not so hard on himself.
John Michael and Samantha had fun decorating the driveway with chalk.  It looks great!  She is definitely a better artist than I am.

Home & School

Today was a great day.  The boys had a blast at school and progress was definitely happening for me.  I headed to the school for After School Care.  I got there a little early, mainly because I am leaving a little early.  I wish I could work and go to the meeting the extra money would really be nice.  Anyway.  The boys and I left at 5:00 to go grab something to eat and then head back to the school.
This Home & School meeting we go to the classrooms and walk a day in our children's shoes, but we do their 7 hour day in just under an hour.  It is fun and always nice to get to know the parents a little better.  It is hard when they both want both of us in their rooms.  So we started with John Michael's and then went to Danny's.
While we were looking at the art work and the reasons that the first graders are strong in faith we came across John Michael's and just smiled, actually we laughed.  He is a pretty cool guy and eveidentally he wanted to write about Superheroes and the fact that he was one and this is what he decided to do since his first one was too long!

Monday Already?

So today was a great day, but I seriously miss the weekend.
My to do list seems to be growing every day.  I am thinking that the to do list needs a to do list, maybe that would make it easier.
Everyone is watching the weather to see what Isaac does but it looks like the biggest problems will be flooding.  We will definitely be praying for everyone along the coast as Isaac makes his way to land.
John Michael had his first project due today, well actually if you count his summer project it is number two.  I had to find some pictures though and they were shoved in a box so befor we left this morning I was ripping open boxes like a mad woman.  Needless to say when I got home I tried to make it look a little better but I am not sure how successful I was.  I need a cabinet and a book shelf so if anyone has something like that they do not need let me know I will definitely take it off your hands.  Mass chaos is not fun especially when it is in my office.

We came home and the boys actually agreed to a quick picture with the sidewalk chalk I got for them.  They are so funny!

HOA

This morning started off with a photoshoot.  It was a beautiful couple and this is for their engagement session so that they can get out a few save the date cards.  We met on Morris Avenue and it was perfect.  It started to get warm pretty fast, but we were also able to get through the session without much glistening.  I will be working on it soon so watch www.facebook.com/monicaannephotography for more on this session and to Monique and Mark congratulations again and best wishes for an extremely perfect future.
The boys and Bradon ventured with me so that after the session we could head to Mass.  It was nice to be back to some sort of normal routine and be back at church with my family and Jesus.
We headed home so that mom could watch the boys while Brandon and I headed to the HOA meeting.  It is the first one since we closed so I was looking forward to it.  It was actually pretty dull.  We did get to meet the new VP and he seems super nice.  The new President had an emergency so he was not there, which is understandable.  It was nice to put faces with names and meet a few neighbors.  I put an emphasis on a few, as not many people were there.
Overall it was a great day and a great weekend.  I do wish that it was longer, but that is what next weekend is for!

Happy Birthday Alexa

Today was a great day!
We headed to Fultondale's Childrens Park.  It is such a cute park and everytime I pass it I think one day I will stop.  Well today we had a reason, it was Alexa's first birthday and her party.  I cannot believe that sweet baby girl is already one.  She is precious, and truly one of the smartest babies I have ever met.  Her party was Elmo and Princess, because she definitely is a princess.  I love you sweet girl.
Of course I took pictures at the party and they are coming soon to my photography blog, watch out for it at www.facebook.com/monicaannephotography
The boys had a blast at the park and at Uncle Bill and Aunt Peggy's.  They always have fun with their cousins!
We had to run by the old house but realized we had  no way in so Brandon is going to go by Monday morning.  There is not much left but we have to get it out.

Fridays are Always Full

So today Bradon and I took the boys to school.  I love the fact that he is off on Fridays and is able to spend some time with all of us.  At the end of last year we took advantages of these mornings and made them date days with breakfast at Legend's.  They are closed now, which is pretty dang sad, so today we ran through Bojangles, mainly because of the fact that they have Diet Mountain Dew.  Yes, we do allow drinks to determine where we eat.  Caffiene always trumps food inmy opinion.
I had a photo shoot so we headed to Hoover to visit the Aldridge Gardens.  It was a great shoot with an adorable little boy.  He had just turned one and it needed to be documented.  I love my job and the amazing people that I am blessed enough to work with each day!
I did find out that Aldridge Gardens is going to start enforcing their Photographer's Guild, which means I have to come up with a spare $75.  That is definitely one of those things that is easier said than done.  I have so many sessions there this fall that I am going to have to make it happen.  I will be spending some time praying on this one.  I definitely did not need any extra stress.
Brandon and I headed home so that he could be there when the guys arrived to look at the cabinets in the kitchen that have been busted since before we closed.  Just add that whole deal to the experience.  Another negative bites the dust.  They were supposed to replace the cabinet and instead they placed a skin over it so that you cannot see it.  You know what butt holes....just because I cannot see it does not mean it is not there!!!!
Anyway.  The boys had great days at school and I had a great afternoon at After School Care.  We had planned to go outside, but with the supervisor our with pink eye inside was what happened.  Plus there were a lot of kids today.  Seems like more would be home early with it being a Friday, but that was definitely not the case.
Since I am in charge when Mrs. Debbie cannot be there we had to stay at After School Care a little later than normal.  I took the boys for a Sonic Blast for a treat on our way home.  They were seriously thrilled!

We went swimming for a little while tonight.  I know that the pool will be closing soon and I wish that we could use it every day.  Next summer I plan to be there too much!  I love to swim and to get sun and I figure why not.  Great memories come from summers at the pool.  CAscade Plunge? Zamora Park? Memories coming in yet?

Running Late

So this morning was slightly hectic.  We slept in, but thanks to Brandon's help me and the boys made it out the door and to the school on time.  Again I am going to ask that those merging onto 59 at Chalkville Mountain Road take a how to merge lesson as soon as possible!  It would definitely make my mornings more enjoyable.
The boys had a great day at school and After School Care was great.  I really love those kids and getting to know them and their parents has really been an unexpected blessing for me this year.  Thank you so much for the opportunity.  I look forward to each day!
Mom had dinner ready when we got home, which was super awesome becase at least Danny and I were ready to eat. John Michael had not quit eating since ASC, he ate the snack then some and then some more and then the snacks that I keep in the car.
I worked on a lot of school work and got a lot of photographs edited, which is good considering I have a weekend slammed with sessions starting tomorrow.  I love my job and I am so excited about the upcoming sessions.  Several are new clients which is always fun, now here's to hoping that the weather cooperates.
There is a lot of talk about a Tropical Storm headed this way.  We shall see what happens.  We will get some flashlights and stuff just to be on the safe side.  We will be watching the weather and following where Issac heads the nex few days,  guess the weekend will tell us most of what we need to know.
Well, I am off to bed, I need about 2 more hours a day but I do not think that will happen so I am just going to keep doing what I can each day and we will see where that leads us!

Fox or Baby Coyote?

Another great morning until I reached the Chalkville Mountain Road exit on 59.  Seriously folks lets learn how to merge and make this area of the interstate run smoothly.  Anyway, that is all for that soapbox for now.  We still made it on time so for that I am seriously thankful.
The boys had a great day at school.  Danny is so excited to have an Alabama History project.  He wants to do it on Springville, so this should be a lot of fun.  After school care was great, I am seriously having the best time and I think I am learning as much for the kids as they do from me, well as I hope that they do from me.
We got home and Brandon was cooking dinner.  He got off early to try to deal with some of the warranty people who were supposed to come.  The door guys canceled which is irritating and the cabinet guys who were supposed to be replacing just patched where it was busted.  Seriously we were told we were getting a new cabinet and drawer.  I am so not happy with DR Horton.  For so many reasons.  I am going to get my letters written ASAP and sent out, they will probably go to an attorney too in the case that I need to take these issues even further.
The boys spent some time riding their bikes and taking pictures of paw prints that they found in the empty lots.  I love that they make everything an adventure.
There was a little animal that came out earlier, I am not sure if it was a baby coyote or if it was a fox but it was cute.  At least from a distance in the dark.  It had a pretty long tail if that helps anyone.
Well, I have homework done at least for tonight and I am off to bed now that it is tomorrow morning.  Oh well, I am getting progress made I guess.

It's Time for Scouting

So it was another great morning, something I am so thankful for.
After I dropped the boys off at school I ran a few errands for mom and then headed to the Aldridge Gardens for a photo shoot with a gorgeous family.  It was a great shoot, family and maternity combined into one.  For more watch www.monicaannephotography.com it is coming soon, or at least one day.  Speaking of my website if anyone wants to help me out with that I would appreciate it so much!  Not the blogging, but the actual website.
The boys had a great day at school and Danny was able to get all of his homework done at ASC which is great for me.  I worked in the homework room, which I really enjoy.  It is great to be able to help the children when they have a question.  I love both of my jobs so so very much.
After work we had a scout meeting for the leaders.  This is the first one for the year and we decided on a lot including when Scout Night would be, next week!  YAY!  Then we have our popcorn kick off, and we also have already set up a trip.  September is going to be a busy month for scouting so get ready!  I am so excited.  I am determined to be better about organizing everything this year and keeping it fun for the boys.  Did I mention the popcorn sales, that is correct I will be harassing everyone soon!  Please help us make this the best year for sales ever!  The more that we sale the more that the pack will be able to do.
We got home and the boys were exhausted for that matter so was I.  I had a few e-mails to get out and things to get in order, but it all got done!  Some days I am not sure that it will, but today was a day where productivity was in the air.

A Normal Week

This morning was a great morning, and like I always say, I hope that they keep it up.  I love mornings where things just go like they should.  Don't we all.
This is a normal school week, so out at 2 today and 3 the rest of the week.  I am really looking forward to it, I know that it will be a great week for the boys, and even for me at ASC.  It will probably seem too fast though.
The boys did have a great day and finally they had some homework to go along with it.  Seriously back to normal.  One of the best things about ASC is the homework room.  It gives all of the students a chance to do their homework which is great.  I am hoping to be able to read tothe little guys and gals so that they can mark that off of their assignment pads too.  I love to read to my boys, but I know that there are a lot of parents who do not have the time and so this would help them and their kids too, and that is always great.
We came home and mom had dinner ready, which again was so nice.  I love the fact that I am not having to stress over dinner.  I also love the fact that not every meal is from the crock pot.  While I love a good crock pot meal, especially in the winter, I do not love every meal from them.
We took the boys to swim for about 45 minutes.  They were shocked that we were not getting in but seriously it was too cold!!!!  They had fun though and that is what matters most to me.  Hopefully we can go several more times before it is closed.

Change of Plans

So the rain all night last night and this morning meant cancelations for photoshoots this morning.  It is never good when it happens, but I just cannot control the weather, trust me if I could I would.  I definitely have a preference for photo shoots and for days off.  I did take advantage of the day and spent a good bit of time editing.  I still have so much to do, but I am running on a close schedule.
We took complete advantage of the cool rainy day.  After the rain was done, Brandon finished up the last flower bed.  It looks really good and as soon as we get some money to add flowers and bushes to it will look really amazing.  We are also going to get my hydrangea bush from the old house, which really makes me happy.  I love that bush so much and was super sad that it was going to stay.  Now if only I could convince him that the tulip bush should be moved.  Hmmm....I will work on that.
The boys washed mom's van and Brandon's truck.  My van really needs it, but since it took two hours for those two mine will have to wait for next weekend.

I had a good bit of homework too so that took up a good bit of the day.  I would love not to have to stress and in about a year I will not know what to do with all of the extra time I have.  Maybe my doctorate?  Hmmm....again something to ponder.

Happy Birthday Avery

This morning started out with getting a little housework done and out of the way because we knew that the rest of the day was non-stop.
We headed to Avery's First Birthday party.  It was the cutest monkey theme I have ever seen.  I was working, but we had a great time.  I always like it when work and family time and time with friends all go hand in hand.  For more on Avery's birthday party watch the blog at www.monicaannephotography.com I will get to it one of these days!  I would not be me if I was not behind.
After Avery's party we headed to the old house so Brandon could activate the flea bombs.  I am hoping it works, otherwise there is no way I can go back in there, they were so bad.  Time will tell.  He also grabbed a few more things.  I really need to get my scrapbooking stuff from there as soon as possible.  Maybe we will get it done soon so we can be completely done with the move, it sure would make life nice.
We headed home and got to work some more.  There is so much we need to do and it seems to be just passed over because of time.  If only there was a good way to get some more of that, or some more energy.

Finally Friday!!

So many awesome things happening!  The boys and I headed to school and made it with a few minutes to spare.  YAY for good traffic.  I was worried because of the rain that it was going to be rough, but I guess we left early enough and all went smoothly.
I had a shoot this morning at the Aldridge Gardens.  The rain meant that would never work, we ended up doing it at their house in Bluff Park and then we headed to a little historical park right there that was awesome!  I hope to go back there.  Watch the blog at www.monicaannephotography.com I need to dedicate a day or two to catching up.  It would be nice not to be behind in at least one area.
I headed to the school to meet with Mrs. Battles so that she could go over my paperwork.  I am so excited to be a part of the school.
The boys had a great day in class and then had a blast at After School Care.  They worked on a Lego house that is pretty cool, and they will have to finish Monday.  I love the fact that they are having fun and growing in so many ways.  They are hanging out with more people and just growing, which means the world to me.
Amy and Terry and the kids came over and we played Mexican train which was so much fun.  We have not played in so long and it was great to hang out, talk, and laugh and just have a good time.  The kids had fun too, they watched movies and played the Wii and played games.

Oh yeah the new fridge came in today.  Brandon was off so he worked around the house and waited for the delivery.  I am so glad that it finally arrived.  A month or so late, but it is here now!  YAY!

Podiatrists?!?!?!

So this morning started out pretty good, we made it to school without incident.  I have to find a way to get to bed earlier though so I can get up and get moving so I am not so tired driving in.  That is a long drive to not be able to hold my head up.  Thank goodness for sweet boys who will sing and dance with me.
After I dropped them off I high tailed it to Morris Ave.  A fourteen  year old boy and his mom were meeting me there for a photo shoot.  It was great, and he has some seriously great hair!  Watch my blog at www.monicaannephotography.com for more on this shoot.  One of these days I will definitely get that updated!  I hope anyway.
After the session I high tailed it to Trussville to see Dr. Waldrup about my toe.  I called him and Dr. Guasteferro and he could see me first so I went.  It was not horrible, but it was not any fun.  He took the whole toenail off and so now I have to wait.  The good thing is it did not bleed much, but when the numbing medicine wore off it BURNED!!!
I left the doctor's office got the prescription he gave me filled and headed to the school.  I was trying to make it to meet with Mrs. Battles to go over my paperwork, but I was lucky to be there by 12:30 when I was scheduled to start.  The boys had a great day at school and we all had a great time at After School Care.  I will say that is where the feeling started coming back in my toe and that was not any fun at all.
When the boys and I got home we ate and pretty much got ready for bed.  They did not want to go to bed though until Brandon got home from work.  Since it was his late night they wanted to see him.  He got home and we got a text from Samantha that they were on their way home and had something for the boys.  The boys stayed up and talk about surprised.  Danny got a new fishing rod with tackle, and John Michael got a new bike. Since it was late I did not get pictures but they are coming.  I told them that they did not have to do that and Mario said that it was for Christmas and their birthdays since they missed them.  So so sweet and definitely made the boys' day, week, heck month and year.  It meant a lot to me too.  Samantha and Mario are wonderful and we are so glad that they are our neighbors.  Thank you both again, it was so sweet and thoughtful of you.

First Mass

This morning was definitely not as easy as yesterday.  The newness of school had already worn out and since today was the first school Mass it also meant that there were more clothes to put on and get all straightened out.  John Michael decided that he needed McDonald's and even paid for it because it is like I told him, we just do not have the money.  I guess he really wanted it.  As soon as I can I will have to give him that back, I do not like him paying for food, even though there was food here that he could have eaten and tomorrow he will eat.
We made it to the school and I am seriously thankful.  Because we had gotten up a little late there was no caffiene for momma and I was not going to use John Michael's money to buy some so I was groggy to say the least.  I just prayed and sang!  Music always helps get the juices flowing.
After a quick pose for pictures since it was the first Mass day the boys headed into class and I headed to the office to fill out the new hire packet, which took almost an hour.  There was a lot.  Tomorrow we will go through it all, hopefully I got it done.
I headed to Mass with the boys.  I love going to the school Masses and today was a Holy Day of Obligation.  It is so awesome to be around so many children who are growing in their faith daily and to be with Jesus.  It is one reason why Wednesday is my favorite weekday.
After Mass I headed to Lakeshore for the drug test that I needed to take for the Diocese.  I will say this was a very humbling experience.  Glad that it is done.  I had to giggle at the girl in there who would not leave without her results and was shocked that I was not waiting for mine.  I  told her that there was nothing to wait on I know that the results will be fine, unless Dayquil shows up.  The sad part about this is she had two children with her.  I hope that whatever she is on she can get some help.
Then it was time to high tail it back to the school to show them where I had been there and to get to work.  It was another great day at work.  I really love it.  Being with the kids is so much fun!  Today we played kickball and basketball and a whole mess of other things.  The boys had great days at school and wore themselves out at after school care.
Mom had dinner ready when we got home, that is so nice!  Tonight was meatloaf, corn, turnip greens, and corn bread.  After dinner the boys were in the shower and in their beds, they were tired.  I have to admit I am looking forward to bed myself.  I am going to edit for a little while and then head that way.

First Day

So this morning started early, but it was a nice - not hectic morning.  I hope that all of the mornings can be like that, it sure would be nice.  Mom was even up and fixed the boys their cereal.  They were so sweet this morning and seemed excited to be headed back to school.  Of course this means hectic starts.....now!
The boys posed for their pictures, and of course I took a lot of them.  We took some at home and some at the school.  They even gave me a hug and a kiss in front of everyone.  So glad that some days they let me have my moments.  It is official my babies are in 4th and 1st grades.  WOW is all that I can think of to say.  They are growing by leaps and bounds, and I am defintely proud of them.
I was supposed to have a photo shoot this morning, but it was pretty wet from all of the rain so we have rescheduled for Sunday.  I am hoping that the weather works out, it is not looking good for this weekend though.
I went by the old house and was going to set off some flea bombs, they have taken over and it is BAD.  I bought the delayed foggers, but I could not get them opened so I left them for Brandon.  I did get a few things from there, including about 50 flea bites.  They HURT!!!
I headed back to the school so that I could start to work at ASC.  I had the best time, it was great meeting the workers, and the kids.  I played a little basketball, football, legos, and even watched a few minutes of Robin Hood.  It was a great first day and again I am feeling pretty blessed.  I have to get a new hire packet from the school in the morning, hopefully I will remember.
The boys had great days.  John Michael learned a song and has rocked it all day and night!  I love it! Danny got his books and what not ready for the year.  He is super pumped because he learned that he will have no homework this week or on Fridays, other than to read!  YAY!
After work I had to go to Liberty Park for a meeting for Scouts.  It was fun and has us ready for the popcorn sales!  So much stuff to do for scouts.

I headed home.  I am so not used to being the last one home, it was sort of crazy.  I am sure that I will get used to it though.  I will say I am exhausted and am headed to BED!

The last summer day for 2012

Well, today started early with a photoshoot at Aldridge Gardens.  It was a great session with an adorable 1 year old little boy.  Watch the blog at www.monicaannephotography.com for more on this session.  I have to get that caught up, I will make it one of my many goals.  Before we left the gardens I took advantage of having the boys there and got a few pictures.  They were not dressed up but it was fun to document the last day of summer.
We headed to the Network after the photo shoot and ended up having lunch with Brandon.  It was nice sitting outside for lunch with the family.
Then we headed to the school.  I had to get an application filled out so that I can start work!  It was a seven page application, and I felt like a fool it has been so long since I filled one out.  Again I am so thankful for this opportunity, it is definitely an answer to many many prayers.  I also talked to Debbie again and it looks like I will start tomorrow with the boys.
The boys had their open house at the school today so after I finished my application we headed in to turn it in and to go say hello to the teachers, see their seats, and get their supplies in order!  I cannot believe that they are going to be 1st and 4th graders tomorrow.  WOW!  Time flies, of course we will have to make sure we have enough time in the morning to make our pictures.  The first day pictures are always important.
We came home and I cooked dinner, and after we all sat down to eat Brandon and I took the boys swimming for about 45 minutes.  I managed a few laps, but it was cold!!!

Well, we are all headed to bed now.  Tomorrow is going to be a big day.  I am so excited and I know that they are too!  Today was so great, and such a fun ending to summer, I do wish that we had a little more time though.  I love my time with the boys.

Sick

This morning Brandon just let me sleep.  He knew I did not sleep good all night and that I just felt bad.  It was nice to sleep in and the thing is even after I got up I ended up sleeping most of the day.  I slept outside in the chair, then inside on the couch.  It has just been a rough one.  When I was awake I was taking any cold medicine I could find.  Hopefully today is the worst day of them all and tomorrow I will be back to normal.

Brandon spent most of the day working in the yard.  He got all but half of one of the flower beds done and that is because he ran out of pinestraw.
I have a photo shoot at 9:00 in Hoover and then we have meet the teacher day.
I also just had a prayer answered with a phone call.  I have been so worried about finances and having so far to go with the school and everything.  Debbie, the after school care coordinator called to offer me a job. I am definitely looking forward to it and I know that it is the answer to so many prayers.  We end up having hours to spare and I honestly had no idea how I was going to handle that.  This is a blessing and I am so thankful that it could work out with this as a part time job and then the photography still and the best part is that I would be able to maintain the same schedule as the boys have during the school year!
Definitely feeling blessed.  I need to call Mr. Wright tomorrow so I really hope that I am better because I sound so bad.

Busy Bees

This morning I had to be up and in Mountain Brook for a photo shoot.  The baby girl, Alice, was gorgeous, but not in the mood to finish up the shoot so I am going to go back and try again.  I did get some very cute shots, stay tuned to the blog at www.monicaannephotography.com for more on this shoot and so many others.
After the session I headed home.  Aunt B and John Michael had run to Trussville for Aunt Paula and Danny and Brandon were busy working in the yard.  There were some goofy areas that he basically turned into flower beds.  He got one of three done today, and the other two marked off so YAY for progress.
When Brittany got back me and her and John Michael headed to WalMart and the Chopping Block.  We got almost everything we needed at Walmart, I forgot salt and milk.  Oh well.  We got hamburgers and pork chops at the chopping block.  If you have not been there for your meat you really should go, there is no better place to get your meat!  Now that we have a grill I plan to be there as often as the budget will allow.  If only we could get our refrigerator in maybe we would have a little room to store extra meat, this mini-fridge is insane!!!!
I started to feel pretty bad and basically could not keep my head up or my eyes open.  My allergies are really going nuts and it is not what I need right now.  I have way too much to do.
Samantha and Mario came over and ate burgers with us.  Tami and Kevin and the boys were supposed to come over too but they got held up at football practice.  Poor Carter is also eaten up with poison ivy.  I hope that he feels better soon.  We missed you guys, but we will definitely make it happen soon.
We all ended up sitting in the driveway until almost one watching the meteor shower.  It was so pretty and being up so high they looked so low.  It was gorgeous.

Aunt B!!!

This morning we got up and headed to the lake to get the grill that we bought last year for the lake, it is still in the box and since we cannot get one for here right now this was the best way for us to have one now, and I love to grill especially in the fall.
We headed to Home Depot to get some pine straw because Brandon has a lot he wants to do in the yard and since it is supposed to be a little cooler this weekend he figured it was as good of a time as any.
Then to the old house we had to get Brandon's grilling box and tools.  We were going to try to pack up a few other small things, but the house has been overtaken by fleas, which means next week I will have to set off a flea bomb or two so that I can get the rest of the stuff out of the office and so that Brandon and I can get to cleaning and have it ready to go on the market as soon as possible.
We headed home and Teresa met us here with some Chicken salad for Danny and Brandon.  She had to go run some errands for the shop and Danny went with her to help out.
While they were gone Brandon got started on the grill and John Michael used the styrafoam out of the box to make the ultimate race car track.  He has got an awesome imagination.
Danny came home with Aunt B, who is spending the night.  The boys are so glad that she is.  They love their Aunt B.  We all do, she is pretty awesome!

Thundering Thursday

This morning the boys and I got up early this morning.  We had breakfast and decided that we would start the day out with some time at the pool.
The rain was supposed to be in this afternoon so we figured we would swim while we could.  When we got to the pool it was locked and we have no keys yet...hello HOA!  Danny rode his bike to ask our neighbor William if we could borrow his.  Fortunatly he let us and we started our day with a few laps, a game of water frisbee, and even a game of jackpot.  It was a great way to start the day, if only that was possible everyday. I am seriously going to miss these mornings when school starts back.  There was just not enough summer.
The thunder and lightening started so we headed home and got dressed and finished our monopoly game from yesterday.  When the rain finally came it really came.  Our back yard lost another inch, I am so irritated by all of this nonsense.  Letters will be written soon.
Brandon got off early today which worked because we had a lot to do at the school.  Mrs. Day's tea, the new parent meeting (we go to introduce scouts), the used uniform sale, and the hot dog dinner.  It is always a great time and tonight did not disappoint.  Of course I was trying to help everyone out and ended up not getting a hot dog before they ran out but that is life.  I did get Danny a pair of uniform pants, so that was something.  The boys had a blast seeing some old friends.  I got their lunches for this month taken care of as well as John Michael's soccer fees.  More money needed is going to be my personal logo.
This is one main reason I am on the hunt for a job as soon as possible.  Praying that whatever is meant to happen does.

Monopoly

So today I woke the boys  up at 6:30, school starts in a week and 6:00 is going to be coming early so I figure the sooner they get used to it the better.  They actuallu got up okay, they asked for five more minutes, but when they saw they were not going to get it they got dressed and headed downstairs to start their day.
I cooked breakfast and we sat down to eat together.  Of course John Michael ate cereal, that boy would eat cereal three meals a day if he could.
They rode their bikes a good bit today and I got all of the boxes out of our room!  YAY!  I am still missing a few boxes, which makes me sort of nervous.  I know that they are here somewhere.  I still have to get some pictures hung, but overall my bedroom is done.  I have the office as far as I can get it until I get some more shelves or something.  I am working on that though.  If you know of anyone who has some shelves or closet organizers or whatever let me know, looking for good condition and a good price.
The boys and I played Nintendo Monopoly twice today.  Once early this afternoon because it started to thunder so they had to come in and again a little later.  Brandon got home before we got done, so we have left it out to finish in the morning.
Brandon cooked us dinner tonight.  We had breakfast for dinner, which is one of all of our favorites, and Brandon definitely cooked a great dinner!  Thank you so much baby you are the best.

Day 2 - Learning to Ride

Today was a day that made me want to pull my hair out.  The AC guys were back to find out why 2 of the downstairs vents were condensating.  They still have to come back again to find out why mom's room is staying so much hotter. Hopefully they will get this damn thing right soon.  I am sure we are annoying to them but the situation is annoying to us, so wha can you do.
The Windstream guys came to bury the cable and took out the Internet, which was seriously a pain in my butt.  After2 hours and 4 different people on the phone somone finally scheduled a technician to come out in the morning.  Such a pain.  I never thought I would miss Charter, but 2 weeks and not having internet more than I have is old, I am hoping that it is not a sign of what is to come.  Maybe AT&T or Charter will be available sooner than later out here.
As soon as Brandon came home John Michael had the bike outside so that they could practice.  He actually rode a few seconds by himself, but turns and stopping still throw him off his balance.  He is so close and so proud though.
Brandon had a friend of his die yesterday at the beach.  He just found out about it.  He was struck by lightening.  His 14 year old step son was also struck and is in critical condition.  Please say a prayer for this family to have strength and healing during this time.

I love my job!

This morning I headed out for a Save-the-Date session at the Alabama Theater.  They had their names and the wedding date on the marquee which made for some really cute pictures.  I hope that Angela and Tony like them as much as I do.  For more on this session watch the blog on www.monicaannephotography.com hopefully I can get it caught up sooner than later.
I headed home and got to work in the office.  No rest for the weary, plus if I rest I might sleep and going back to sleep is not something that I need to do.  I made a lot of progress but I also now see that I need a new bookshelf, well another one, maybe two, or one and a closet organizer.  I will figure it all out.
When Brandon got home he had gone by the old house and got my big picture down from the living room so I can get it hung and he also brought the craft shelf, which means another box can be unpacked, it holds ribbon and all that fun stuff, but of course I have to get it hung too.

Brandon also brought Danny's old bike back here and has started working with John Michael on riding!  YAY!  I think that he will pick it up in no time.

Butterfinger Cake

Today was another great day full of family and friends.
Mom cooked veggies and Teresa, Dale, and Meemaw came over around 1:00 to eat.  While I am not a fan of the cabbage and the squash, the okra was SO good!  They stayed for a while and it was nice just to sit around and talk and watch the Olympics.
After they left I got back to work in the office while we waited for Amy and Terry and the kids to come over.  I did not get much done, but I managed to get the Christmas gift cabinet where it goes and most of the presents in it.  YAY for some sort of progress.  I do think that I am going to need another one of these though since it is full and I have two more guft boxes to unpack!
Amy showed up with a butterfinger cake in hand.  Let me just tell you WOW!  It was definitely one of the best deserts I have EVER had.  Thank you so much.

The kids had a blast.  Danny and Sasha went on adventures looking for paw prints, and what they found were hoof prints from what I assume is a deer.  I love the fact that the back yard is like the Discovery channel LIVE!  We also went swimming for a little bit which as always was nice.  The kids had a really good time.  Brandon ended up with a migraine, so he was in bed early.  Hopefully he will feel better in the morning.

Cousins

Today was another great day with company.  I have always loved to have company but now that we are in this house I really love it.
This morning started off with Brandon and Danny going to get the part for my van.  I really hope that this is all that is needed and that I will have a vehicle again.
About 8:30 Dwight and Chris showed up with a bucket truck to help Brandon hang an extra antenea. He needed a 28 foot extension ladder and his got stolen several years ago so he asked to borrow one, and since they did not have one they brought the next best thing.  The bucket truck.  Looked like a lot of fun to me, Chris was going to take Brandon straight up but somehow Brandon convinced him not to.
Today Margie Rose, Logan and Makenzie came over.  The kids had a blast riding their bikes, building box forts, and yes of course we went swimming.  We swam for a while and then the lightening came so we left.  The kids made a parking lot just for them at the pool.  I love that they are enjoying it so much!
Brandon worked on the van and we think that it is fixed, thank you so much baby for giving me my car back!  I was really tired of checking the water, pouring in more, waiting.  You are amazing.
Margie and mom worked on some more of her boxes.  Progress she is making, but there is a lot more to get done.  We have to get the boxes the heck out of here.  I have a serious bug phobia and I know that cardboard boxes tend to attract bugs.  That is another reason I have been busting my butt to get rid of all of ours.

I just need some shelves and stuff and some ideas on how and where to put some of this stuff.

Where's My Tube?

This morning started out with me thinking John Michael stuck a Lego in his ear, once I got him to sit still so that I could check it out I realized that it was his tube.  He just had them in right before Halloween.  The doctor was worried about his right ear rum holding the tube and I guess he knew what he was talking about.  Now to just wait and see what happens.  Hopefully he will be okay.
We had several errands to run today, it is a Friday theme.  It works though.  We were able to get a little more accomplished and hopefully are on our way to some serious progress.
Aunt Paula and Uncle Dwight came over tonight, with Costa's BBQ for dinner.  It was seriously so good!  I love Costa's and tonight it hit the spot perfectly.  Dwight and Brandon hung out and watched some TV, while mom, Paula and I worked on boxes.  She actually got rid of a good bit.  YAY for progress.  We still have so much to go through.  We will get there though.  Thank you so much Paula for all of your help!

A Day With Danny

Danny came with me today to do a newborn session in Gardendale.  Liam was the sweetest baby.  For more on this session watch the blog at www.monicaannephotography.com I cannot wait to show off these ADORABLE pictures.  I hope that his mom and dad like them as much as I do.
After the session Danny and I headed to the school to pay for the book fees, the after school care fees, and the tuition.  Having that off my plate is HUGE!  Now we are really ready for heading back to school.  While we were there Danny got to see Miss Donaldson, which made his day.  He is really excited about fourth grade, almost as excited as John Michael is about first.
Danny and I decided to have lunch at Arby's.  It is one of his favorite places.  It was super packed, but it really was yummy.
We went to Academy so he could take a tackle box back.  He thought that it was pretty neat to have to fill out the form and sign and print his name.  He did great and I was so proud of him.  I cannot believe how much he is growing up though.
Then Target was calling our name.  I needed a few small plastic bins and I also got him some under shirts.  He wanted a speaker dock for his new iPod so he used some of his birthday money to get one.  He has really loved that thing, and I am so proud of how well he is taking care of it.
We headed to the store and then home.  We did stop and get John Michael a happy meal, which could have been gold bars as far as he was concerned.  I love it when the little things make him so happy!
We came home and since it was leftover night we went to work on more boxes and just enjoyed the day!

Hello August!

Wow!  I cannot believe that it is August 1st.  Seriously, where did the summer go?  I guess we were moving, man it can make time fly.
Most of today was spent working in the house, there is so much that we have gotten done, but there is still so much that we have to do.  I am determined not to live out of boxes forever.  Today I just about finished the game room.  The biggest thing is finding a place for everything.  It will happen though,  I am pretty darn determined.
We went swimming again tonight.  I managed a few laps, but man did I forget how hard they are especially when trying to have some kind of form.  Mine has never been great, but with all of the extra weight and the fact that it has been years, sloppy is a serious understatement.  It will improve though.  I wish that this stupid toe would get better then I could put on some tennis shoes and really kick some booty, or at least try to.

Family Time and Oh Yeah....the Cake Boss

So today was a great day.  The boys and I had a few errands to go run.  We headed out and started with uniforms at Dennis LaRose, and then Shoes at the Shoe Dept.  They both got what they wanted, the classic gray new balance for John Michael and Gray and Black Nike shoes for Danny.  We managed to stay within the uniform requirements and had two happy boys, which meant one happy momma.  No fighting over clothes makes me happy.  Of course I cannot believe how much I spent on not very much of anything.  The to buy list never seems to shrink, at least school supplies have been taken care of, thank you Innsbrooke!
When we got home Aunt B was here with Hunter, Hayden, and Hudson.  Meme, Pop, Meemaw, Uncle Brett and Aunt Mindy were not far behind. We had planned a night with family, and some swimming.  What we did not plan on but was AMAZING was that Brett and Mindy returned from New York with a cake from Carlos Bakery.  It was absolutely amazing, yep, now I know that Hoboken is on my must go to as soon as possible list.  They also brought a brownie and a canoli, the canoli was one of the best things that I have ever put into my mouth.  WOW is all that I can say!  Thanks again Brett and Mindy for sharing, it was a GREAT treat.
It was so nice spending time with the family.  We do not get to see them often so it was definitely a treat.  We all decided to go swimming for a little while.  We figured we could all unwind and the kiddos could wear themselves out even more.  Nick and Jessica and the kids came up for a while too.  I know that they were glad to see Brett and Mindy and the boys too.
As we were leaving the pool Jessica passed out.  I took the kids to my house while Brandon, Brett, and Teresa stayed to help Nick.  Please say a prayer that she will find a cure or at least some relief soon  I know that this illness is very hard on her.  We are all just thankful that she is ok.

Back to It

Brandon headed back to work today after being off last week for the move.  The week went by so quickly and to think that there is still so much to do.
The boys and I busted tail and got their rooms completely cleaned and unboxed.  They were excited to hang a few things on the wall and just make it feel a little more like home.  We still have a lot to do to completely finish their rooms, but we are at least on the right track now.
Brandon came home from work and got to work in the yard.  He wanted to get it cut and he did!  It looks so good, he was just glad that it only took a little over an hour.  A HUGE difference from the old house!
We headed to the pool and I decided to swim a few laps.  I have not done that in years and man could I feel it.  I hope that I can do this more often.  I love to swim and working out in any faucet is great and considering I still cannot put on tennis shoes the pool is pretty much what I am limited to right now.  I definitely plan to use it as much as possible until they close it.  If only they would heat it, maybe we can get a hot tub sooner than later, even though I cannot swim laps in it I would enjoy it so much!

Happy Birthday Morgan

This morning we got up and tried to get some more work done around the house.  We really want to be done with all of the boxes as soon as possible.
We headed to Morgan's Birthday party at A Play Place.  I cannot believe that she is four years old!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY MORGAN!  WE LOVE YOU!!!  She had a great party with a great turnout!  I love seeing friends, and family, and meeting new people.  It is always such a treat to spend the day smiling.  A Play Place was a great place to have a party, even the boys had a good time and Danny was worried he was too big.  He is such a mess.  She had a cowgirl party so John Michael wore his cowboy boots.  He had a good time showing them all off.

We headed home after taking the trailer to the house.  We are hoping to get it full and be done there, at least with getting our stuff out.  We still have so much to do so that we can get it on the market.  Hopefully we will be able to get all of that taken care of sooner than later.  I plan to spend time out there once school starts back.

Happy Birthday Danny

So this is one of my favorite days of the year, it is Danny's birthday.  Today he is 9 years old, which I cannot believe.  Nine years ago I was so ready to meet and hold my little man.  Nine years ago I learned that it was possible to hold your heart in your hands.  Nine years ago I knew that every moment would be cherished.  Nine years ago I knew that being a mom was all I ever wanted.  I still cannot believe that it has been nine years, they have been amazing and I know that all of the years to come will be amazing too.  He is growing into such an unbelievable young man, and I thank God for him everyday.
We surprised Danny this morning with a new bike!  He really needed one and he was so excited.  It is sharp and he is doing great with it.  We went on and got a mountain bike for him so he is still learning the gears, but he will get it and I am sure it will happen quickly like everything else seems to.
Danny has been waiting for his birthday to fall on a weekend so he can have his party on his birthday and this year he got it.  We had his party at the pool.  It was so nice.  I hated that invites had to go out via text and facebook, but it was short notice because I did not want to send them out in case something happened with the closing.  His party was great, he had a great  turn out with family, friends, ball team members, and school friends.  I was so happy for him and he seemed to have so much fun and that is what matters most.  It was hot today so I cannot think of a better place to be than a pool.  The kids and adults managed to fill up the pool and the kiddie pool, which was just awesome.  I love it when everyone has a good time.  There was no cake left thank you so much Amy, for the amazing cake that tasted as good as it looke (as always).
After the party we headed to the house to change, and Danny wanted to open his gifts.  We also hung out with our nephews and just had a good time.  Amy and Terry and the kids stayed for dinner.  Danny wante chicken and dumplings and since it is his birthday I was not going to argue.  After dinner we headed back to the pool to swim and make sure we had cleaned everything really well and all that.  It was a lot of fun.
