Frantic Friday

Well, today I feel human at least. This is a good thing since I have had two days of doing nothing. I need to get back into a routine.
Brandon is off today which means that he will be busy trying to get thing done. The TV moved to the other end of the living room is his current goal. I hope that he succeeds. I know that it will be nice having it down there. We shall see.
I have started this early in the day so I will update on progress tonight. I also plan to get my pictures uploaded so that I can get them into the posts. I am so far behind on everything that it is just sad. Everything will go better soon! I am not going to allow for another option.
Today was the 8th graders Snack Attack Fundraiser. The boys' of course were super excited to be a part of it. They each got a pack of skittles, a pack of sour punches, and a Gatorade. Danny saved his until he got home, but John Michael could not wait to dig in.
John Michael got his first ever red face today at school, which means a lot of trouble at home. He has spent time in the corner, and is super grounded until further notice. He has to learn that this will not be tolerated at school or at home. Hopefully it will not happen again. He kept saying that he was not the only one, but I told him I did not care. And I don't. I expect my boys to behave. I think he knows that now. I hope so anyway, I do not like sad days.

So we are getting ready for bed and as I put John Michael in the tub I noticed all of these places on him that look like bites. They also look like a rash. Not sure what is going on there, but if they do not get better over the weekend I guess we will start next week with a doctor's appointment.
Danny is working on his room until bed time. He wants his friend to come spend the night next weekend, but I need his room to be clean for that to happen.

I am super excited that even though I was down for 2 days laundry is caught up as soon as I get the last load out of the dryer. YAY! Now if I can keep up with it through the weekend we will be on a good start for the week ahead.

Headed to bed sooner than later. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that everyone has a great weekend. Can you believe that this is the last day of September. I am super shocked. October is my favorite month though! So many good things!

Rough Thursday

So today was even worse for me than yesterday was. I really hope that I feel better soon. I do not like to feel bad, especially to the point of not being able to function. Going on two days of this kind of pain is not good for me or for my family.
We did not even go to soccer practice because of it. I know that John Michael needs the practice, but there was just no way I could have stayed.
We came home and John Michael had a yellow face from his teacher today. Yellow faces make me sad. Hopefully this will be the last. He is grounded until tomorrow when he better come home with a green face. I told him that is what would make me happy. I need to figure out a reward system for his behavior, maybe that will be the incentive that he needs. Something to think about when I can think.
Danny had a good bit of homework, which is common on Thursdays. These papers were by far the best yet. I am super proud of how good he is doing so far in third grade.
Well, I am off to bed. Praying for all of you and for me that I can actually get some much needed sleep!

Where's the Meeting

So today was a great day for the boys' at school. As always this makes me super happy. It was Mass day and I really wanted to stay, but I was feeling really rough so home and to bed I came. Actually I curled up in a ball in Brandon's chair!
It was completely unproductive for me, which is never a good thing. Especially considering how much I have to do.
We have made several trips to donation centers and yet the 80's style boom box I got for decoration for Brandon's birthday party is still in our living room. Crazy I know, the boys decided today that this was the best toy in our house and used it for DJing. Too cute is all I can say, they definitely made me laugh.
We were suposed to have a leader's meeting for cub scouts, but it seems that there are NO rooms available on Wednesday nights for us to do so. While I know some people are not happy about it this is out of my realm of control.
Well, I am off to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Popcorn...Popcorn...Popcorn

So the boys' again did not want to get up this morning. I am dreading their teenage years since it is already so much fun. My mom thinks that it is great that the boys are so much like me, she said that it is something I deserve and she is probably right.
Once we got on the road and high tailed it to Irondale they were much better and so was I. I have to admit my nerves were slightly frazzled.
I was able to get a bunch of nit picking little things done today which made me feel better, but I still have such a HUGE to do list. Every time I think I get it down some I am reminded of how much more there is to add to it. I will get there though. I am determined more than ever. Tomorrow I will work on the bigger things, and then Thursday back to the little. I think it will help me say focused. At least I hope that it will. As an adult I know that I have ADD, strange since I did not as a child. Maybe it is just motherhood. Who knows.
Well, the boys had a great day at school. Which again makes me a happy mom. John Michael had soccer practice and Brandon was able to make it. this is the first practice he has been able to come to. That was great because Danny and I were able to get an errand done and he was able to sell some popcorn. He is ready for Sunday when he will get to sell some more. Of course I am working on it for him too and so is Brandon. Danny wants to keep his title as top seller and more importantly he wants to throw a pie in the Cubmaster's face...probably because Brandon is the Cubmaster. I might try to sell $500 so that I can. Of course I told Brandon that someone will have to demonstrate how to do it so I volunteered for that position. It is a tough job, but somebody should do it and who is more qualified than me :)
Well, it was chicken and dumplings for dinner which made Danny super happy. John Michael was not so much. He can be difficult when it comes to dinner though.
Well, I am off to bed. I am super tired and am hoping to actually sleep instead of tossing and turning and having really messed up dreams. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Movie Monday

Today the boys cracked me up this morning, they sounded like I did (only I was in HS). They did not feel good, they did not want to get up is all it was though. Funny boys.
Of course when I got them from school they had great days. They were really glad that the rain stayed away until we were on our way home. When it rains they are inside for PE and Recess when it doesn't they are outside. So needless to say they were outside, which is where they like to be.
Tonight I made a taco salad cornbread casserole. My tummy was not 100% so I ate some soup but my three men seemed to love it. I even boiled the chicken that I am cooking later this week. Some tomorrow and some probably Thursday. I like to try to mix it up some. We shall see how it all works out though.
We decided that we would make tonight movie night. I even popped some popcorn for everyone to make it official. We bought Grownups on Blue Ray and so that is what we watched. The boys picked the movie last time so this time it was one for all of us. It was the funniest movie I have seen in a long time. I recommend it to anyone who needs a laugh.
Well, I am off to bed. Pictures to come soon. I have to get back on track with uploaded every night, but I have been jam packed. Know that you are all in my prayers. Be safe traveling in the morning, the fog is supposed to be bad.

Sunday Sanity

Again Sunday is no day of rest for us, but it is a good day for us.
I was able to get all of the laundry caught up, which makes me happy. Now if I can keep it that way throughout this week.
I also cleaned out one of the hall closets. The linen closet to be exact. I ended up with one bag for donations. I am always glad to get rid of things. Now if Brandon will clean out the bottom of the closet all will be well. I would have done it, but the 5 gallon paint buckets are out of my realm of where to put them knowledge.
Brandon started working on the process of getting the television moved to the far end of the living room. The old TV is in the den and the one that was in the den was donated. The old armiour was donated also. It was great to get some things cleaned out and starting to have some definite progress on the house, which is something that I need for my sanity.
The boys played baseball outside. They love sports and being outside. I have to admit I do to and I am going to start getting out there with them more. Again, something that I need to save my sanity.
Brandon grilled steak for dinner. They were super good. We also had salad, mushrooms, and baked potatoes. It was definitely a good dinner.
Well, as my sanity has been tested, I am taking control of the things that I can. I am ready and willing and it is just not an option anymore.

Sports Saturday

This morning started out with a trip to Fultondale for John Michael's soccer game. They did not win, but they had a great time and that is what matters the most to me. He really loves soccer and when he is paying attention is pretty good, especially for year one. I am super proud that he is loving it and having a good time. Danny went off with JT during the game, they found ice cream and seemed to have a good time. I guess watching little brother is just not any fun.
I went by Hewitt High School to scout for a potential photography location. I am thinking we might have to try it out. I love finding new locations so if you have any ideas let me know. I will go check it out! I have a few in mind, but I need more time to scout.
We headed to The Chopping Block to get some meat to grill. We were going to do it tonight but decided that tomorrow night would be better. The Chopping Block is on Hwy 11 in Springville, if you want the best meat available you will go by there and try them out.
Of course we had to go to the grocery store. Not my favorite family trip place to go. We got what we needed a lot that we did not and then headed home.
Football, football, football. We came home to watch Alabama take on Arkansas. I did not make it through the first quarter. I was so tired and what I meant to be a twenty minute nap turned into almost four hours. Go figure, I guess I needed it though. I woke up in time to see my Auburn Tigers take on Florida Atlantic. I was glad to see my boys in orange and blue on the field. I hope that Lutzenkirchen is back in next week though, I missed him a lot. There is something about him that just makes me happy! WAR EAGLE baby! 30-14.
Well, homework and pictures are calling my name so I am out so I can get to work. I am also ready for bed. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I am looking forward to Mass in the morning. I need some time with Jesus after this week.

T is for Tornado

Fridays are always a lot of fun and always super busy. With Brandon being off most Fridays we try to get a lot squeezed into one day.

Today was show and tell and they were supposed to bring something that started or ended with the letter T. John Michael chose to take Tornado his beanie baby horse. He said that everyone really liked him, especially his name. I am so glad that they have to think about what they bring instead of just grabbing whatever. It is great for John Michael.

We thought that DirecTV was coming today, but we later realized it is next Friday. Now it is not going to happen until October. There is always a better way to get things done and while we have to wait a little longer to get them out here, this way should save us a little money, not much but $3 is $3. It will also save us a lot of hassle, which is always a positive in my books.

I had a shoot with a month old baby this morning. Avery, and she is precious. I hope to do more pictures with her as she is absolutely adorable. Like most babies she was not a fan of the tutu, but we were able to get some super cute pictures. For more on these watch my photography blog on http://www.monicaannephotography.com/ I love followers so check it out.

Tonight we went to Brittany's soccer game. They were playing at Clay so we were glad to get by there. She did really good and the boys, especially John Michael, thought that it was cool to watch Aunt B play soccer. Unfortunately they did not win, but they played good and I was glad that she was out on the field. After her game she played a little with the boys, which is always a treat for them. Hopefully we can start getting together more with Aunt B.

Danny is starting to sell boyscut popcorn for the cubscouts!

Well, I am working on pictures and homework and probably not too long for bed. I am tired. Know that you are all in my prayers. I hope that everyone makes memories this weekend.

What a Thursday

So today did not turn out anything like I was hoping it would. It will all work out though and I know that. I know that I have the two best children, an amazing husband, and my Faith. We have gotten through larger things and this we will get through too.

The boys had a great day at school. Today was Thursday papers day, which meant a lot of homework for Danny. They both did very well on their papers, and I am very proud of them for that. Danny just needs to take some time and he would do even better.

John Michael had soccer practice. I took advantage and walked a few laps. I am determined to do more and more each day. He did great at practice and really seems to be enjoying soccer. I love the fact that the boys both enjoy sports so much. They did several drills to get ready for their game this Saturday. Danny has decided that he likes soccer now too so next Fall I am sure that they will both be playing.

After practice we headed to Remlap for a Maternity session. It was a lot of fun, and I cannot wait to get to work on the pictures. Keep an eye out on MonicaAnne Photography's blog for more on the session. I love the fact that I love what I do. It is truly an amazing feeling. I have always been told that true success comes with doing what you love, I know that there is a lot of truth to that.

When we got home John Michael played photographer for a while with my little camera. It was too cute, and that is the picture of the day today.

Well, I am off. I hope that you all have an amazing night. Know that everyone is in my thoughts and prayers.

A Day with Family and Cub Scouts

So today is usually Mass day at school. I could have used some time with Jesus and my boys' but the priests are on retreat.
I went and spent most of the day with Amanda and Alexa, which made my day. Alexa is growing so quickly. Watching her and of course photographing her made my day. She is such a good baby and you can tell how much Amanda loves her. I cannot wait to go see her next week when I have my mirrored flexi glass!!! It is going to be a lot of fun! :)
Tonight was Cub Scouts. It was the pack meeting which is always a good time, and tonight there were a lot of awards to be given out, which is always great. It was also the kickoff to our popcorn sales so if you want some amazing popcorn let me know as my Danny man really wants to throw a pie in daddy's face...LOL! Brandon is the cub master so if the boys' sale $500 he has volunteered his face for a pie throw. It should be a lot of fun. It will obviously have to be an outside treat.
Speaking of treats. Amy, my Cake Makin' Friend, made some amazing cupcakes. Not only did they taste good they looked amazing. They looked like little bowls of popcorn. Everyone loved them! Thank you so much for making the wonderful treat.
Well, I am off to bed. Praying for good results tomorrow. I know that God has heard my prayers and the prayers that all of you have offered up for me. Thank you all and please keep them coming. Know that while I have been preoccupied I have not forgotten about any of you in my prayers.

Rained Out

So today we were supposed to have soccer practice, but the rain won out for the day.
It was most definitely a nasty day. I seriously could have stayed in the bed most of the day. It was just one of those sleepy rainy days. Plus I did not get anything accomplished anyway. I probably could have at least gotten rid of the bags under my eyes had I taken a good nap. :)
The boys had a great day in school even though they were stuck inside most of the day. Recess and PE are almost always outside, but there has to be exceptions for rainy days. It was much needed though and they know tomorrow will be better.
Today was also progress report day. I was very happy with both of the boys' work. I know that they have been working hard, and I am super proud of them. I know that they will keep it up as they really do love to learn. They really make me happy.
Since it was rainy once homework was done we had a lazy day. I worked on laundry and that was about it. Next week I will be more productive. I would say the rest of this week, but I am actually pretty busy with photography sessions for the rest of the week. YAY!!!
Well, I still prayers. Thanks everyone. Know that you are all in my prayers!

Pop Fly

So today was Monday. I thought that I would have some answers and be slightly more stable but still nothing. I am not at all good with hurry up and wait. I am scared, mad, happy, and sad all in the same second. I think they have put people in straight jackets for less.

Danny wanted to work on his pop flies this evening. We went outside and practiced. The way that he practices is so awesome. He gets on the ground and Brandon stands on the deck and throws them down. It is nerve wrecking and really cool all at once. He is doing so good and I am so proud of him. We did not do fall ball this year, mainly because of time, but he has been practicing. He is already ready for Spring.

Time goes by too quickly as it is for me so I am not going to wish it away. In fact I just cherish each moment. That is what we all should do. While I was thinking this a rainbow appeared. It really was pretty, I love rainbows though, they are just such a gorgeous gift.

Classes start back tomorrow so while I can get to bed early I am!

Silly Face Sunday

So today started out great. Well sort of. I think that the boys can tell that I am stressed so they are being a little more difficult than what I like. Hopefully that will pass soon. This morning it was just about getting ready. There seemed to be something very difficult about that task.
Once everyone was ready we went to Mass. I prefer the 8:30 Mass and we made it we were even early despite the minimal drama.
After Mass, we went to iHop for brunch. It was Danny's idea and it was a pretty good one. It was really good and the boys ate good which is not always an easy task where John Michael is concerned. He had one of the Silly Face Create your Own Pancakes and that was all it took.
We came home and started working in the office and den as a family. We are still not done, but progress can be seen. We took 8 bags to Hannah Home and several larger items that were just sitting in the office taking up serious space. There are some more things I am hoping to get rid off sooner than later, but that is going to require working on the husband some.
Well, I am off. I will upload pictures tomorrow and add them to my previous posts. I do not like being behind. I will do better!

First Soccer Game

Know that pictures will be added soon. I am just behind on uploading. I will be caught up soon!
We got up this morning and headed to the school for John Michael's first soccer game. He was so excited, and I have to admit so was I. He looked so cute in his uniform. We did not get the shirts until this morning, and it is a good thing, because we owned one red shirt and it was more spider man than red. He was super glad to see it too, mainly because he was worried about not having a number. Of course I was the woman on the field with the camera. I stood at the goal for one half and then the sidelines for the second half. They did not win, but they had a blast and that is what I care about the most. They truly had a really good time.
We left the game and came home. Well, Brandon dropped me and the boys off and he headed to help Kimy, Steven, and Deborah close the pool. I cannot believe that summer is over. It is so sad. It does not seem like it was long enough at all.
When he got home we got down to watching Football. Watching Auburn play just makes me happy. Today's game was the end of a 17 game winning streak. That is a little sad, but I also know that there is a lot of talent that is very fresh right now. Win or Lose I am an Auburn Fan, it is in my blood and I love and am so proud of the Tigers. So many people forget that these guys are kids, seriously, just support them. There is no reason at all to hate kids. WAR EAGLE!
Well, I am off to bed, please pray for the special intention that I have mentioned. I know that it is hard not knowing details, but trust me God knows them. I just need the gates stormed right now.

Free Fridays

Well the boys are out of school and Brandon is off work. The difference is Brandon is working at the boys' school. They are getting new desks and are really excited. I am so glad that Brandon is able to help out at the school when they need it. We always try to be involved.

The boys got a miniaturefishing game, well John Michael did and even though he had to beg, Danny man played with him.
Well, Brandon got his Christmas present a little early. He got his new TV finally. He has wanted one for so long, and it should help rebuild our credit and it is definitely cheaper than a boat.
The boys and I worked in the den and just took it easy. My need for prayers is definitely growing. I will explain soon I hope, and I am praying that it is good news.

M is for Muffin

So today is the boys' last day of school for the week. Tomorrow the teachers have some classes and the dad's will be working at the school. Kindergarten thru fifth grade are getting new desks so the dad's will be working to assemble them and have them ready for the school day on Monday!
Since today is the last day it was show and tell day for John Michael. Today they were supposed to bring something that begins with the letter M....John Michael decided that he wanted to bring muffins. He was so cute, we made them all last night. Mini peanut butter chocolate chip muffins, and regular sized strawberry muffins in case there were any allergies. He was so happy to announce that everyone loved them. I told him to take the extras to the office for the teachers but he brought them home.
Thursdays mean Thursday papers and a lot of homework for Danny man. He was able to get it all done, and wthout too much hassle.
Well, I am off to bed, it has been a stressful day. I am asking for prayers from everyone. I have a special intention and I will explain soon. I hope.

Bear Cubs on the Court

Mass was this morning. I love starting my Wednesday mornings with my boys in Mass. It is such a special time and allows me some time to reflect and pray, which was much needed today.
The boys' had great days today. Again, this is music to a momma's ears. I love knowing that they are happy and that they are learning. They are great boys and I know that the education and attention that they are able to receive at St. Francis is second to none.
The Bear Cubs had our second den meeting of the year today. It was fun. We started the meeting off with the Pledge and then we set some ground rules with the Wolves and the Bears. I took the Bears out to get to work on their badge. Today Basketball. After going over the rules and some drills, they played each other in a quick game and then to the playground to run off some energy. There is a lot to do to get your Bear badge and I hope that we are able to do this. February is our goal. Now to turn my attention to the pack meeting next week...Popcorn time. Should be fun.
Well, homework is finally done, and now for bath time and bedtime. I am hoping for an early bedtime. I am seriously exhausted!
Good night all my friends! Pictures to come tomorrow. I am tired today :)

Stressful

Well today was more stressful than it was productive. I even tried clicking my heels together and willing my day to be productive. No such luck.

Basically I started working in the office and feel like I made ZERO progress. I was contemplating going back down for an hour tonight, but not so sure that will happen.

There are financial issues where Brandon works, which makes me very nervous. I do not like it when things are shaky and that is what they seem to be. I need stability and security, and basically I do not have that at all right now. Our business really needs to pick up so I can make some money to put up for the future. When you factor in tuition for the boys and the house, and everything else I am just nervous.

Well, the boys had a great day today. John Michael made a snake that he has had way too much fun with. He told me it was "Bernice, the Python Corn Filled Snake." Fortunately it was made of paper! Danny had a great day too, and we were able to get homework knocked out even before soccer, which is always very nice.

Soccer practice was great, the two under 6 teams scrimmaged, which was so cute. I love watching them out there just having fun.

After soccer we delivered Danielle's wedding pictures and DVD. I hope that she likes them. Then we went to Academy to get black shorts and red soccer socks. I am so glad that I can quit stressing over these two things, especially since there is a game Saturday! John Michael is super excited.

Well, dinner has been taken care of and the boys are clean so I am not far from bed. We slept late this morning and cannot have that happen again. It is no fun when you have to check in.

Monday...Monday...Monday

So today was much like all other Mondays, except that being without power most of last week has this week starting on a being VERY behind schedule.
While the boys were at school I was able to get the kitchen almost completely done. Now for the rest of the house. I think I am going to spend the rest of this week focusing on the office. I need to get it done so that I can get the rest of the house done. There is just so much down there. I will go into more details tomorrow when I start, I am sure that I will have the drowning sensation.
Chicken fingers were for dinner tonight, the boys were pumped and they were really good. I even had some fries in the frige. We melted some cheese and it was very good! A nice easy family dinner. That is what we strive for every night. I was just glad that the kitchen remained cleaned. I was able to wash the pans as soon as we were done and the boys are getting really good at cleaning their place when they are done. It is about time, that is all that I can say about that.
This morning I was a ball of tears. The radio played Heros in Heaven and let me just tell you. It was an amazing song and boy did the tears flow. If you have not heard it you should definitely check it out.
Well, I am off to bed, I will add my pictures tomorrow. The picture is of the praying mantis that took over my porch...anyone who knows how I feel about bugs should understand.

The boys had a great day at school, which is always a great thing!

Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Never Forget

First, I want to start off by saying I cannot believe that it has been ten years since the attack on the US. I remember this day like it was yesterday.

I had just gotten to work and started my day. It was a regular day and my mom called. Personal phone calls were something my boss frowned at but since she was late I walked in the other room and answered. Mom was freaking out saying that something horrible had happened. We had no television at the office so I went to the office next door where everyone who was there was gathered around the small television that they had in their kitchen. I called Brandon, he was home sick. Nobody answered so I called his mom, she told me she would get him to call me and that it was horrible. I walked outside to smoke and just try to get a clear moment in my head. Everything seemed surreal. When I went outside it was so quiet, I worked on 280 at the time. Quiet was something never heard outside the building. I also remember how blue the sky was. It still seemed unreal. My boss came in and said that anyone with children could leave and go get them, everyone else would get off at noon. I went home at noon. I was so ready to put my arms around Brandon. I stopped by mom and dad's to give them hugs. Then I went home and cuddled on the couch with Brandon where we watched the covereage until we fell asleep. This day I cried, more tears than I can explain, but they kept coming.

Ten years later I wish that they were still showing this footage. When I do see it, the tears come back. American's came together on September 11th. We were stronger than ever and determined not to let anyone bring us down. Now people seem mad that we are in war. I think every American should watch the footage everyday.

For all of the soldiers, past present and future who have faught and continue to fight for our freedom know that it means everything to me and my family. Anytime I see a soldier, I say thank you. This is something that I have passed on to my children and I hope that they never forget.

Today, 10 years after that day that is forever burned in my memory. I found myself having to explain the day and what it meant to my children who were not born until 2003 and 2006. I also fund myself just wanting to hold them. While I feel safe and proud to be an American and to live in America I also know that tomorrow is not a promise, today (the present) is the gift and I am thankful I had today with my family.

Saturday

So today was nothing like it was suppose to be. That is about all the detail I want to go into for now. It is all good though.

Amy and Terry came over tonight with the kids. It was a great surprise for me and the boys. I have needed some girl talk time with Amy and it seems like there is always something happening.

I did manage to get a few more drawers in the kitchen cleaned out! YAY!

Tacos

So today was a crazy Friday. I do not feel like I will ever catch up from being without power for a few days.

I decided to make tacos for dinner tonight. I have been wanting them, and the boys are always happy when that is what's for dinner. They could not wait to help me finish them up, which made me even happier. I love it when we are able to work together to accomplish something.

Nick came over for a little while tonigt with Kiersten and Elliott. The boys were pumped to have company. I was embarrassed for anyone to see my house. Oh well, at least Nick knows what I have been up against.

I started working on the kitchen. While I did not get much done, I did get a ox of goodies for my friend Amy. I hope to have it completely ready tomorrow. We shall see. At least by the end of the weekend!

Happy Birthday Blessed Mother Mary

So today was a much better day. I think having the bed to ourselves, and better having lights to get ready by seemed to put everyone in better moods. Of course there was some serious catching up to do, the blog is just one of those things. It will be tomorrow though, because I still have to upload pictures, and I am too tired to do them tonight. Just being honest! :D

Today is the Blessed Mother's birthday so the boys took flowers to put in the classrooms for her. It was such a sweet moment. They were told to pick them, not buy them, and they did! I was so proud of my little men. Of course I needed pictures.

Well, I had and still have a ton of laundry to do. I was able to get school shirts washed which was VERY important. I was very concerned about how we were going to go to school. I am still in some serious need of laundry doing, but I am hoping I can get it done tomorrow. We shall see.

I was also able to cook dinner tonight, which was great. We had pot roast. It was delicious, but I think at this point anything cooked at home would have been delicious. ;) Of course I had to go to the grocery store first. After cleaning out the refrigerator and the freezer upstairs there was nothing left to cook. 5 garbage bags of stuff. I was literally sick taking them out. So sad.

There is good news though, our freezer downstairs, the deep freeze that I had just filled up this weekend never got above about 10 degrees! YAY for dried ice and 2 wonderful uncles who got it for us!

Well, I am off to bed! I will get pictures uploaded tomorrow and be back on track. At least that is the plan, hopefully it will happen.

First Mass

So I love Mass days at school, mainly because I love seeing my little guys in their ties. They look so handsome. :) We did a quick photo shoot at the school. They were not into it, but I was.

I had to go by the Network and let Brandon check my tires. Of course I needed air in all 4 of them. That was pretty frustrating, but at least he was able to get me all ready to go. I headed back to the school so that I could go to Mass with the boys. Even though I cannot sit with them it is nice to have that hour with them during school and at Mass. Such special times.

It was a great Mass. The eighth grade was commissioned as the leaders of school after Mass. It was just a great hour and a much needed one for me.

We still had no power when I left the house again to pick the boys up. I am tired of trying to get anything done in the dark, and I am dreading cleaning out the refrigerator. Sickening, is the best way to describe how I feel about the whole thing. The boys are bored and ill and so is their momma!

We had our first den meeting today after school. We have three new Bear Cubs, I am super excited about that. This meeting we focused on getting them their Bobcat badge...Check! Then we had races in the back for about 15 minutes. They needed to run off some energy. Next week basketball!

We came home and I thought there was a light on, but was not sure. I knew the guys had been working so I thought what the heck and I tried the garage door. I can assure you that I have NEVER been so happy to see a garage door open in my life! YAY for power and kudos to Alabama Power and all of the linemen who helped get power restored. You guys ROCK!

We had lights, and most importantly HOT WATER!!!!

Well, I am still seriousy behind on the blog but by the weekend i will b caught up!

Trees Down

So today the boys' went back to school after their three day weekend. Many of the schools in the area were closed due to the amount of trees and power lines down, thank you Tropical Storm Lee. We were late, but because traffic was horrible and we had to go around our rear ends to make it to the school.

After I dropped the boys off I decided to go by and check out my moms. She had some trees my uncle said did not look like they were going to make it. Since our power was still out and I had to go around the county anyway to get home I figured I would check it out. I pulled up to her house, after stopping at Starbucks. Again no power means no coffee...needed a fix! Well, I could see sky in the backyard. Not a good thing since there are about 10 trees back there. I also could not see the ground due to trees down.

At first I thought that there were 5 and a half trees down, after Brandon and I went back through there were 6 and a half down. She literrally has 3 trees up, and one of those is dead...go figure.

Brandon went out to get a chainsaw, the last in stock at Home Depot. We checked the boys out of school about 30 minutes early. I hated to get them, but I also knew that it was easier considering the work that was ahead of us. They were very excited though.

Well, we were not able to really do anything but take a lot of pictures, but we will get it done. My mom is truly lucky. I know that my dad was watching over the house. There were several trees that could have done a lot of damage to her house. One would have literally cut it in half, but other than her deck it looks like all is well. The largest tree and the one that was closest to the house that was leaning towards the house from what my uncle said ended up going straight down the center of the handicapped ramp on her deck. Thanks Dad for watching out for mom. Thank you God for showing us that while things looked bad, were really were blessed.

Well, still no power at home. Time to cuddle in the bed again!

Happy Labor Day

So today is Labor Day and while our plans were originally based on spending the weekend at the lake we made adjustments. With my asthma acting crazy and both of us having so much work to do and the high chances of rain it made more sense to stay home. The holiday is finally here and I am glad that we made the decision to stay. Every night around 2 AM an asthma attack has gotten me out of bed. It s quite irritating and has me pretty tired. With Danny getting sick last night, I know without any doubt staying home was best for all of us.

The Golf Course in Grayson Valley was flooded, the water was washing over the street. The creek behind our house was flooded and washing the water everywhere and quickly. It was wild to see so much rain after we have been so dry.

So I was super excited about Chick Fil A's promotion today. You ordered they gave a yellow reciept. Then you can return the yellow reciept before October thenth and get the same order FREE! I like FREE!

Well, I am super behind on posting because of the amount of rain and the super wind we lost power at 6:00 thank you Tropical Storm Lee. Needless to say Iam very thankful for a King Size bed because that is where the 4 of us slept.

Got Smurfed!

Today we wanted to make the day all about the boys and we wanted to make it a fun day. While we had work we had to get done, there are no days off when you own your own business, we wanted to make sure that we did something with the boys.

We took them to see the Smurfs. I have been wanting to see it since it came out and they have too. I loved the Smurfs when I was little so seeing them on the big screen was great. The boys loved it. Even Brandon seemed to like it. It was funny and really cute! I am so glad that we finally made the time to go and watch it.

When we got home Brandon cleaned my camera lenses. After several outdoor events they were in need of some TLC. I am always nervous about it so I let Brandon have at it. He did an amazing job. Now I am ready for September and the sessions and events that are coming with it.

It also finally rained today. It was a good slow soaking which we seriously needed. It is supposed to keep it up for a few days which I hope that it does. We have been in a serious drought so a few rainy days will be great for everything and everyone.

The boys enjoyed the rainy day and spending some time on the Wii. I do not let them play very much so on rainy days they know I am more generous with the time they have. They even got creative with a box that Danny's backpack came in.

I worked until almost midnight and when I was getting ready to blog Danny man got sick. He never throws up so the fact that he was and a lot I was nervous. He had no fever and seemed okay after a long shower. Hopefully it was just something he ate and not anything serious. I do not like it at all when my men are sick.

Well, I am off. Lots of work and cleaning to do.

Auburn's Season Starts

Well, today was a great day. It is supposed to be the end of our very long dry streak. We need some rain so I hope that this tropical system in the Gulf sends it to us.

The best part about today was the fact that SEC football resumed! Auburn played at 11. They played Utah, it was a game that was too close. I love my boys in Orange and Blue no matter what, but I am very glad that they won their season opener. It seemed to be a good day overall for the SEC. I do not understand those who truly hate Auburn it makes no sense to me. The funny thing is the most obnoxious of fans are not even ones who went to the schools. Most of the time they are uneducated morons who ruin the fun for everyone. I am a football fan, yes I always want Auburn to win, but I do not spend my time hoping for others to lose. I like it when all SEC teams win (except of course when they are playing Auburn). This used to be how football was.

Anyway, after the game we went to visit Pop at the butcher shop. For anyone who has not been to visit The Chopping Block in Springville, you definitely should. Brandon and the boys grilled hamburgers for dinner, and they were delicious. I love it when the men cook.

Well, it was a great Saturday and I am hoping that Sunday comes with rain...lots of rain!

Out of Uniform Day and Movie Night

Well today was a great day. The boys were so excited about going to school and wearing their regular clothes. Danny is used to it, they get to do this a few times a year, but for John Michael this was his first school day not in uniform. Danny of course went all comfy with his basketball clothes, John Michael went all SuperHero with his Batman shirt and jean shorts. I love the fact that they are their own people. I have tried to give them some independence so hopefully they can see that too. Or at least will be able to when they get older. They both had great days at school. It was show and tell day and for the letter S....Spongebob was in John Michael's backpack.

We were going to go to the lake, but we have so much to do around the house and with the weather not looking too promising we decided to stay home this weekend. I keep telling myself that was probably best. We will head to the lake soon though. I like going in the fall and even winter. Even though you cannot swim it is still a lot of fun, and usually gives us time to work up there.

My heart aches today for the family I have been asking you all to pray for. Cali came off life support today and has gone to play with the angels. I know that she is in God's hands and that she is happy and healthy now. The hole is always on earth. I pray that the family stays strong in their faith, they are truly amazing people. Cali was a blessing while she was here and I know that her story will continue to touch so many.

We decided that we wanted to cuddle with the boys tonight. So we decided movie night. The boys picked Days of Thunder whichI like a lot and Brandon, well it is one of his all time favorites! It was a great family night. I did a lot of reflecting and praying.

Well, I cannot post until tomorrow, I still have to upload pictures. :) But I hope that everyone has had a wonderful day and has an great long weekend.

Welcome to September

Wow! So I woke up this morning still not believing that September is really here. WOW! Yep, that is about all I have to say. I am looking forward to this month though and all of the amazing blessings that I know it will be bringing.

The boys had a great day at school. Thursday papers came home, and I was super pleased. They both seem to be doing really well. I cannot believe that they have covered so much. Danny is rocking and rolling with 3rd grade, and John Michael is with Kindergarten.

Today was soccer day so after I got them in the car we parked, worked on homework, changed John Michael, and then headed to practice. It was another hot one. I was going to walk while he practiced but the mederal dose pack I am on has the heat really beating me down. I love the heat and summer, but those two are not mixing well. hopefully next week will be better. He did great at practice. He is really into soccer and is doing really well considering he has never played. I just love knowing that they are having fun.

After practice we had a quick photo shoot for Poshy Tots and an outfit that they needed done. Thank you Ashlyn for being such a great model.

PS....City of Clay you need to do something about the small playground!!!

On a serious note, I am asking that you all pray for a special child. Cali is her name and her parents had to make the decision that would only be possible with Faith and love from God. Cali has been on life support and it will be turned off tomorrow. It has been a long hard fight and in her short five months Cali has moved so many people and touched so many lives. It breaks my heart that she will be leaving this earth, but she has done so much in such a short period of time. While I do not know her personally, but through a mutual friend. Her story has touched me in ways that I cannot express. Please pray for Cali as she goes to play with the angels tomorrow. Also pray for her family.

Well, I am off to bed. It has been a long day and one that has drained at my heart. I love my time with my family and it is moments like this I want to cuddle with them all and never let go.
