Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone. I have to say this is definitely my favorite holiday. It is just fun without any stress, just in general good times, which is something that we all need at least one time a year.

Today was John Michael's first day at school. I know that he was glad to be going. When I woke him up this morning he asked if this was the day that he got to go back to school. When I told him yes, he was up and dressed and ready to go. If only every Monday morning were so easy. He was so excited when we got to school. I think Danny thought he was a little nuts. Danny enjoys school, and fortunately has never had to miss more than a random day or two, so he did not know what it was like to be stuck at home doing nothing for over a week. I walked John Michael in just to let his teacher know he should be 100%. She was so glad to see him back too, which made him and me feel good.

Today was the Halloween Parties for both of the boys. It worked out perfectly so that I could be at and help with both. Danny's party was at 12:20, I ended up being 3 minutes late, but I made it. They had yummy cupcakes and got some really great Halloween glasses that they all had fun showing off. His party lasted until 12:45, because of music lessons and math labs that they do every Monday. John Michael's party started at 1:20. We did a cute pumpkin craft, had cupcakes, fruit and other goodies. Both parties were great and the boys had a blast. Danny said it was a great Monday at school.

We came home finished up homework, fortunately there was not much. The boys got their costumes on and as soon as Brandon came home we headed out.

John Michael really wanted Sneaky Pete's for dinner, since it was Halloween and they are Sneaky it was perfect according to him. We ate early so we could get or trick or treat on early. The odd thing is (or was then) that he did not eat.

We started trick or treating. First we went to my mom's neighborhood. Then we went to a neighborhood down the street. It was so much fun and the boys racked up. We left there and went to visit Aunt Paula and trick or treat there for a little while. On our way there John Michael said that his tummy hurt, but then said that he needed to go potty. As soon as we got there he went potty and seemed fine. Right before we left to hit the streets with their bags, John Michael got sick. It was bad, and I feel so sorry for my little man. I am hoping that his hernia is just messed up, but we shall see.

We got home got him cleaned up and the Danny got in the shower. He was a good sport especially considering that we had to ct our plans short because his brother got sick. He got in the shower while I went through the mound of candy that is now taking over our kitchen.

The All Saints Day Mass is tomorrow and I have a photo shoot right afterwards. Praying that John Michael is OK and can go to school, but it is not looking promising. If it is his hernia and he feels better he will be able to go to school. We shall see what tomorrow brings. I am going to go back to editing as I feel like I will be sleeping in the living room with my little guy. Good night to everyone. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Happy Halloween to you all!

Trunk or Treat

So today the boys' had to get their rooms cleaned. While this was not what they wanted to do it was what they had to do if they wanted to go to Trunk or Treat at the church tonight. The plan was to go there and go to Mass. We left there early though to run by the store before Mass. I had to get things to finish up goody bags for tomorrow's Halloween parties and we had some time to kill.
We also went to Northpark's Fall Festival. The boys wanted to get more candy and waiting till tomorrow was not what they wanted to hear. We did not stay long, but we did let them get a few pieces.
It was a nice family night with my 3 boys! I have to say I am so ready for tomorrow night though. Halloween is so much fun and so little stress, which makes it awesome! The boys seem really excited too.
I have the goody bags ready for Kindergarten, and candy to take to third grade to add to their goody bags. I am looking forward to spending the afternoon with the boys' in their classes. I have told Brandon to get to work early and get off early so we can start trick or treating early! Hopefully it will all work out!
Well, I am off to finish a few pictures and then to bed. Know that I am praying for you all!

Happy Birthday and Happy Halloween

John Michael had to miss his soccer game today, but at least it is not the last one. We will be back in full soccer gear next week. Then onto basketball. I love sports and am so glad that my boys play more than one. I do not want them to get burned out on one sport and I have heard that playing only one and playing it more than once a year means that they are more apt for injuries.
Today was Kimy's birthday! She is 6 months older than her and is one of those friends that I can honestly say I have had for as long as I remember and longer. I am glad that we have always remained friends. Tonight was her birthday/Halloween party. We went but did not stay long. I knew that the boys would want to run around and I wanted John Michael to get to bed. He gets so tired so quickly and that is when he fever goes up, which is not good for anyone. It was a great party though and I was glad that we were able to go even though it was not for long. Thank you as always for having us.
Auburn played Ole' Miss tonight. We recorded it on the DVR and watched it when we got home. It was a great game, I was pretty partial to the second half. WAR EAGLE!
So I am off to bed. I am so tired. Did I mention that I have the office done! I have to get some things out for Hannah Home, but they are coming Tuesday! Seriously pumped!!! Love and prayers to you all. One last shout out...Happy Birthday Kimy!

First Christmas Gift for 2011

As all of you know I LOVE Christmas. There is so many memories to be made, and the magic is everywhere. The birth of Jesus brings out the absolute best in so many people. I just love the season and all that goes along with it. My favorite thing to do is give gifts, which is why I start shopping in December for the next years' Christmas. My best friend Amy (and her family) came to visit tonight, which made John Michael's day. Since he has been sheltered all week. Amy brought me my Christmas gift early....I LOVE it. It is a fire pit for the back deck, which will be awesome this winter but especially for our Christmas party! She knows me better than most, and this made my day! Thank you again Amy, I LOVE IT!!!
I made BBQ in the crock pot tonight for dinner. It was so good. While it was not smoked it was good and something I will definitely be making again. With the schedule that I have the next 2 months, I plan to try a lot of new things with my crock pot. Stay tuned for updates.
Well, I am off to bed. The boys passed out and I am ready to. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Frames, Frames, and More Frames

John Michael is definitely going to be home for the week, which is sad because tomorrow was his firs field trip, that breaks my heart, but we want him to be better. Maybe we will be able to take him this weekend to the Pumpkin Patch and at least get some pictures and a Pumpkin.
Danny was at school for a whole day today. He said he had a great day. Because it is Thursday it meant Thursday papers, and he did very good. I am so proud of him. We are in the 2nd week of the 2nd quarter and he seems to be doing very well. Hopefully he keeps it up.
John Michael finished up all of the work that his teacher sent home for him that he was missing this week. He also has done all of him homework. YAY! At least we will not go back behind. A definite plus!
I worked in the office again and almost have two desks completely cleaned off. I have under them cleaned out.
I also have the seven large tubs of scrapbooking stuff sorted and ready to go in a scrapbook. I have no idea when I will have time to do anything with them, but at least I am getting there with having them ready to go, which can take be the longest part.
I have had several frames that I have bought over the years for Christmas gifts, and I have finally gotten them all together and figured out how many pictures I need to print so that I can get them given out this year for Christmas. I also have several I was given as gifts that needed pictures so that they could get hung and that has also been done. Now to figure out which pictures to use.
Well, I have a lot to edit and DirecTV is supposed to be here tomorrow so we are trying to clean off our DVR. Not sure if sleep will happen tonight or not.

Check

Today was the School Mass, and so that I did not miss it, John Michael got to go to work with Brandon for an hour. He was so excited. He is still not 100% though so we are going to go on and assume it will be Monday. Hopefully I can get a new doctor's excuse from the ENT. She said that I could with no problems, and since I have called about his fever they should know that he is home still. While he was okay this morning, it came back up this afternoon. It does not stay up long, but when it is he is pitiful. When it is not he is almost 100%. It breaks my heart to see my boys not feeling up to par.
Mass was so nice. Bishop Foley actually was there which was nice. I have not seen him since he retired. It was a great Homily too. I love the choir at the school Mass. There is just something about Children's Voices. Today Here I Am Lord was one of the songs, and it is one of my favorites. I love starting my day at Mass with my boys. While I know that St. Francis is the best choice for my children, it is reaffirmed at every Mass.
John Michael and I ran some errands which included getting my oil changed. I am so bad about that. I will get better one of these days. I knew that I had to do it before November though with everything coming up and all the miles I am about to log it was not an option. Of course they recommend tires. I am hoping and praying that I can make it until at least tax time. Brandon says yes, and I trust his call. Of course we will be watching them to make sure.
Well, it was a progressive day in the office. I swear I never knew how many pictures I had just randomly laying around. I know now. Well, not the number but the amount. My office could have been on hoarders. Seriously. Now I am making progress I can see, where as last time I worked on it I could not tell I had done anything even though I knew that I had. Getting there, my goal is to have it ready for Brandon's equipment by next weekend. We will see.
Well, I am off to bed. I am pooped and ready to check the back of my eyelids for holes (to quote my daddy). Know that prayers are headed up for you all.

Report Cards

It looks like John Michael will be out again tomorrow. He spiked a fever about lunch time. We will see what tomorrow brings.
Danny was excited again because he was able to get out at 1:00. He had to come with us to the report card conferences. All parents have one for the first report card, which I think is great. It is interaction with the teacher's and helps build a relationship. Some people complain, but I love it. I like to be involved in what they are doing with school and this definitely is a small thing, but it means a lot in the grand scheme of it all. At least to me it does.
Danny did great, I was so proud of him. He has worked really hard, and he knows that it is going to keep coming and he is ready. He loves to learn and loves to be challenged. While some days he is not the happiest about the work, he knows that the benefits will be great!
We also met with John Michael's teacher. He is doing very well too and is also working hard. He misses school and is so ready to go back. He loves it and his teacher said that it showed in his work and participation. Now if we can get him to get our phone numbers down and tying his shoes down we will be good to go. Any advice on shoe tying would be awesome!
Well, I am off to bed. Prayers for you all going up shortly!

Miracles Happen..

So today started off as a good day. John Michael is still recovering and it is looking like Wednesday before he goes back. Time will tell though.
Danny got out at 1:00 because of report card conferences. Ours is tomorrow. He had a great day and loved the fact that it was so short. I remember looking forward to early days too, I think it is great, and I enjoy longer days with the boys!
On my way to get Danny I was contacted by a client to tell me his wife had been admitted to have their first child. They had asked me to be there with them to get the pictures that they would not be able too. It took some calls, but Aunt B came to the house to sit with the boys and I high tailed it to the hospital. Especially considering she went from 3-7 cm in no time. She ended up having a C-Section and guess what photographer was in the Operating Room. It was such an amazing moment. A true miracle. To read more about it watch the blog at MonicaAnne Photography. The baby, the momma, and the daddy are doing great though!
Well, to say I am tired is an understatement! Night and prayers to you all!

Scheduling and Resting

Well, John Michael was definitely not feeling great today, he even took a two hour nap, which translates to the fact that he is still awake and it is almost midnight. He says that his nose, throat and tummy hurt. Poor baby is breaking my heart.
His Aunt B made his day when she stopped by and brought him a surprise. Spongebob card games were definitely a hit as he and Danny had a blast playing with them. Thank you Aunt B for making your little rock star's recovery a little brighter!
Well, my photography schedule for 2011 is booked. I am seriously slammed to the point I do not know when or how I will be able to do my boy's pictures. I was stressed but I decided to say a prayer and ask for peace and guidance. His hands are bigger than mine and now I see it for the blessing that it is. I love the fact that business is booming.
I got some laundry done today, not quite as much as I wanted, but progress is what matters. We have been taking it easy all weekend...probably too easy. It had to be done for little man though, we are usually none stop and that was not possible this weekend. John Michael getting better was the priority.
It allowed us to work towards cleaning off the DVR which is a good thing considering that we are getting a new one on Friday. Brandon is pumped because it is high definition which will look amazing on the new television I am sure. He has been impatiently waiting for a month now for this appointment.
Well, I am hoping that John Michael goes to sleep soon so that I can. Know that you are all in my thoughts and in my prayers.

Recovery Day 1

So today was an interesting day. John Michael needed to take it easy so that he did not start bleeding so we all took it easy. It as definitely a zero productive day for house work. I am glad to report that there was no bleeding today though so we made it through day 1 of recovery.
He was pretty fidgety to start the day off. I am guessing it was coming off the medicine that did it to him. I am not sure how long all that stays with you so that is my guess.
He does not like the ear drops at all. I have to do them three times a day and the last time it took me and Brandon to hold him down and get them inserted.
Brandon and Danny changed my brakes today which was great. Now I will feel better making my around town visits. Especially with all of the sessions I have coming up I have to be able to drive. There was a leaf in the brakes, which I took a picture of for you all to see. STRANGE! I will be getting the oil changed this week. Maybe Tuesday, I think that is ladies day at Express. We shall see.
Well, I am off to bed. Praying for a good day for my little man tomorrow.

Surgery

This morning was John Michael's surgery. We got up and got ready. I got Danny up and ready for picture day at school. He was in his Mass uniform and super handsome. My mom came over this morning so that she could take Danny man to school. She was also going to take him to breakfast, so I know he was loving this morning. He was also glad that he got to see John Michael before his surgery. He was worried that he wouldn't. Such sweet boys that we have.
Brandon, John Michael and myself were at Children's at 7:05. We had to be there by 7:15. John Michael and I walked the halls for a while and did several puzzles in the play room while we were waiting on his surgery. The nurse came and got him about five minutes before 9. He was such a bog boy walking to the back. We got to walk him to the monkey doors, and then we watched him until he turned the corner. My heart was broken, even though I knew that he would be fine, it is just so hard to watch them go somewhere and lose all control. I tried to stay strong and got some coffee and prayed.
His tubes were done in no time. The nurse said that they put the mask on him and he yawned and then he started to laugh. She said that they were all laughing because he had some serious sleeping giggles. Dr. Hill came and let us know when the adenoids were out. He said that they were definitely large. He also said that his eardrums are "floppy" so he is worried about the tubes holding. If they come out there is another type of tube, but he wants to try these first. He gave us the drops and said that John Michael did great and was in recovery.
When the nurses finally brought him back he was a little upset. He had his IV in and did not like it at all. He wanted it out. Once he drank a little they took it out. He was scared that would hurt, but he was big. Plus he had the Demerol stares so he was not paying much attention. He got a Popsicle for the ride home. He was glad to head home.
He got a little sick while we were carrying him to the van. Once we got to the van he fell asleep and pretty much slept the rest of the day. We gave him his medicine every three hours and his ear drops (which he does not like at all) 2 more times. He really wanted Krystal's for dinner so Brandon went and got him some and he ate 4 so I guess he was hungry.
He seems to be in better spirits tonight, and is wide awake from sleeping all day. The doctor said that we can send him back to school as early as Monday as long as he is up to it. He said for some they are only out a few days for others a week.
Well, I am off. I am working on homework and editing while he watches TV. I am so proud of how big he was today. As soon as he goes to sleep I am headed there myself! Hopefully it will be sooner than later.

International Rosary

Today the boys were excited because they got to wear their spirit shirts to school instead of their uniforms. Danny's is orange and John Michael's is blue. They looked super handsome. Danny wore khakis and John Michael jeans. I have to go get Danny some jeans sooner than later. He also wants some comfy pants, which means athletic pants. I will have to see what I can do there to.

Brandon did not have to be at work until 8 so he took the boys to school. It was a nice surprise as I was able to do some yoga, drink a pot of coffee, and work in the house. With John Michael's surgery tomorrow I wanted the majority of the house clean so we could relax this weekend.

I went to the school to go to the International Rosary at 2:00. It was such a moving Rosary. With each grade in their spirit shirts, and saying the Rosary in a different language. This is something that I hope they do every year. It was a gorgeous moment and I am thankful I was there to share it with my boys. John Michael said it in English, and Danny in German. I was definitely one proud momma and I think that all of the other parent's who were blessed enough to be there were also very proud.

John Michael is starting to get a little nervous about his surgery. He told his teacher today that he was scared. He asked me if he could sleep in our bed tonight, of course I was not going to tell him no. I know that he will be okay but I am worried. Motherhood the greatest gift ever and is also the hardest thing. My heart breaks when I cannot help my boys. This is one of those times that my heart is breaking.

Well, I am off to edit a little and then try to get some sleep. I probably should have broken out the wine bottle...at least for one glass. Know that you are all in my prayers and please say a prayer for John Michael and his surgery tomorrow. We have to be at Children's at 7:15.

Haunted Cubs

So today was a pretty good day, while I was nowhere near as productive as I would have liked, it was all good though.

It started with the school Mass with the boys. Today's mass focused on listening to the many voices of God and how He sends us messages in many ways. It was a great message and I was super proud of the boys and the fact that they were able to tell me what Fr. Bob said.

As surgery day is getting closer John Michael is starting to get scared. It breaks my heart. I just keep reassuring him that his ear doctor is great and that Mom and Dad will be right there. It was so much easier when he did not realize what was happening. My sweet baby boy.

John Michael ended the day with a green face, which made me so proud. He is such a sweet boy and just has to learn that he cannot always have it his way.

So I have decided that I will learn how to coupon. I do not know that I will ever been an extreme couponer, but I have to be able to save money and to be able to help others would be nice. First step, remembering to get a Sunday paper.

So tonight was the Cub Scout Pack meeting, which was a Halloween party. We wanted the boys' to have a good time and get to wear their costumes. It was a great meeting. We made goody bags for all of the kids, and I want to thank the parents for all bringing candy to add to them. It is always nice to know that everyone helped out. The bags were full!! Thanks to everyone who helped me get them stuffed too! I had done what I could at home, but getting them finished up was concerning me. Thanks to the amazing parents that we have it was done without any problems.

Well, I am off to bed. Know that you are all in my prayers. Brandon is taking the boys' to school in the morning so hopefully I will be VERY productive.

I HATE BUGS

So this morning started off great. We were up on time, I did a little yoga, drank a little coffee, got a shower, got ready, and got the boys ready and to school. Yes, it was a great morning. I even started dinner, and laundry before we headed out!
I went to the store to get the things that Danny needed to make the snack that he wanted to make for the pack meeting tomorrow night. While I was getting the groceries out of the van I heard something. I looked up and there was a locust in the garage. So anyone who knows anything about me knows that I am terrified of all bugs and those nasty creatures. So I ran inside shaking. I finally made it back in the garage, got the van windows up and outside just in case he was in there and left the garage doors open the rest of the morning. I never saw him again, hopefully he left and will never come back. I am seriously terrified when it comes to bugs. Needless to say even though I parked in the garage tonight, my windows are up. Still feeling a little shaky, the thought of that thing being in the garage seriously petrifies me.
The boys had great days at school. Danny has learned to say a decade of the Rosary in German for the International Rosary on Thursday. It is gorgeous listening to him. I cannot wait to listen to the whole school when they do the Rosary in multiple languages.
John Michael got a green face which meant he was out of trouble. I know that he can do it, and am so proud of him when he does I just wish he would start doing it every day.
We had soccer practice today but we also had soccer pictures. His coach is also a photographer, she owns Future Memories and does great work. John Michael actually looked at the camera and at her so I was super happy as he is not the easiest to photograph. Soccer practice was great, they even got to scrimmage a little with the other under 6 team.
We came home and had dinner and then it was time for John Michael to get his hair trimmed....well, that is what it was supposed to be, he ended up with a hair cut. I was not too happy, but I keep telling myself it will grow back. Brandon keeps telling me that too.
Well, I am hoping to get a little work done and then head to bed. Hoping that tomorrow starts out like today and just gets better and is not interrupted by a killer locust.

Boxing Up

So I have these great containers under my bathroom sinks. I have tried to keep them organized and up to date. The problem is stuff gets thrown around them and on the counters. Today I took back the organization in the bathrooms! YAY! It is the small things that make me excited.
I also managed to get laundry almost caught up. I have one more load to do, and I will do it first thing in the morning. Laundry is one of those never ending chores that one day unattended likes to take over a whole day. I try to do one load a day and then I stay on top of it. I like to be on top of the mountain instead of under the avalanche.
Danny had a great day at school today. He even got a compliment from his teacher about his new hair cut. It is nice to have Brandon cutting the boys hair. He can do it right before bath time and then they do not get the "Itchies" which is a big plus!
John Michael had an okay day today at school. He got in trouble for talking back....I have no idea where he gets that ;) He ended up with a yellow face so he was grounded the rest of the day. Hopefully tomorrow we will be back on green smileys track!
Well, the boys are in bed, and I am going to get a little editing done and head there myself. Hopefully before 10! We shall see. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Running on Sunday

Sunday was definitely a fun day for us! The Thach family had an amazing day and I am so thankful for the wonderful blessings that we encountered.

While we were down a car, we still managed to get where we needed to go and on time, which is always a plus. I like to be 5 minutes early, Brandon likes to be 5 minutes late, so it is sometimes difficult. We make it work though. Brandon and I work well like that! With the boys and having to get in and out as much as we did today I was super shocked that we did it though.

I had a maternity session with an absolutely gorgeous mom and dad to be. Watch http://www.monicaannephotography.com/ for more on them. It was at the Botanical Gardens and was just a really good time.

John Michael had a soccer game, and while they did not win they had the best time and scored a few goals which was great for their moral. Even John Michael got some kicks in. They had fun though and that is what matters most to me. Meme and Meemaw came to watch the game, I hated that we could not hang out, but it was a back to back day for us.

I had a photo session with Sophia this afternoon. This was for Halloween. Sophia is in Danny's class and is such a pretty girl. She is going to be a peacock and is definitely the prettiest peacock I have ever seen. Her costume was truly fabulous. This session was at the Botanical Gardens as well. She was a great subject and I cannot wait to get to work on her photographs.

While we were at the Botanical Gardens we saw several of the teachers from Hilldale. It was great to see them. While I love St. Francis and am so thankful to have my boys at the same school, seeing Mrs. Sanchez, Mrs. Hayes, and Mrs. Morrison was a great bonus to our day.

Well, it was a busy day, but a great one with my family. The boys are in bed, I have done homework and edited until my eyes burn and now I am off to bed. I hope that everyone had a great weekend. Praying for you all to have a great week.

She Said Yes

Today we knew was going to be spent mostly in the truck, but for a good reason. We went down to Wind Creek State Park in Alexander City, AL to be a part of a celebration. Brian, Brandon's youngest brother, was proposing to his girlfriend. It was a cookout afterwards, and a lot of fun. He has put a lot of work into surprising her and to making this day special. I definitely think that he was successful. She said yes, and as beautiful as the ring was in the box, it was stunning on her finger. Christen is an amazing person and we are definitely looking forward to her becoming an official family member. We have considered her family for a while.

The boys had a blast playing at the park. We took their bikes which they loved. Danny was not too fond of having to wear his helmet, but that is the way that I prefer it. I like him safe. They played football, and with the dogs, and in the dirt. They just had a blast.

It was definitely a great family day! Tomorrow is going to be full of photo sessions and soccer. It should be a lot of fun, and I cannot wait. I have been busying myself tonight with homework and editing trying to get caught up because I know that I am about to be slammed. Definitely looking forward to it though.

The Auburn game tonight was a great one. We defeated Florida and it was a great game. I love it when the boys in orange and blue are on the field, and when they leave it with a W it is always great. WAR EAGLE!!!

Well, I am off to bed. Tomorrow starts early with Mass and ends late in the afternoon. It will be a great day, but extremely busy!

Frantic Friday

This morning started out with everything running smoothly. We were all up and out the door in time and with nobody crying or arguing. We made it to school with everything that we needed for the day and the boys were all smiles. I met the Tiger Cub leader and got the candy that her parent's had brought for the goody bags for next week.

Brandon and I headed to KMart to get the grill that we had put on layaway out so we could take it to the lake. This is where the snag in our plans happened. Layaway does not open until 10, we were hoping to be headed home from the lake by 10.

We came home and I looked into some things that I wanted for my photography company. While I could not find what I was looking for I did find something perfect. As soon as they arrive MonicaAnne Photography will offer gift certificates. I also plan to give these as gifts to those who I have done sessions for. I am excited. We also got a few things together for Brian. Hopefully he will find them useful.

We left home headed to drop off a disc from a photo session. Then headed to KMart. Where again there was a problem. One of our payments did not post to our layaway. Fortuately I had all of the receipts so they made it right, but not before having us stand around for an hour. We ran by the Clay Post office so I could mail some other discs from a wedding and then to drop some stuff off for Brian, then to the lake. We stopped by the courthouse so I could get the tag for the lake, but I need my cousin's drivers licence too. I swear if something could be easy that would be wonderful!

We made it to the lake put the grill in the shed and high tailed it to Irondale to get the boys! I am happy to report that they had great days and that John Michael got a green face, which made it a week off all green. We promised him Dairy Queen if he did it and he did so we did. Super proud.

I have every Christmas present that I had already gotten wrapped and ready for the trees! This is a great accomplishment. All of the women (almost) and all of the girl children that we buy for are done! We still have the boys and men. We also have the boys' bigger gifts, but that will come soon enough. Layaways will be started as soon as I have a little extra. It would be even nicer just to go get it and be done with it. We shall see which way it works out. I also have some pictures to print and get in frames and then get those wrapped, but then I am done! All great news.

We took some change that we had to the store to cash it in. We had been trying to wait and use it on vacation but with all we have going on this week we know that we will probably need it. This weekend will be spent in the truck, and on the go, but it is all good and I am looking forward to it.

Extra battery is charging for the camera for tomorrow, boys are in bed, and I am headed there myself. I hope that everyone has a great weekend. Keep an eye on http://www.monicaannephotography.com/ for all of the sessions that are coming up. It is going to be great! Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Brakes...

So I went today with the goal in mind of getting my brakes done, well I do not have the kind of money that I was told it was going to take. Praying that they will hold together for a few weeks and then hopefully I can get something done. I will be limiting my driving to school and photo shoots and on the weekends I guess we will be using Brandon's truck.
The boys' both had a great day today. Thursday papers were the center of attention for homework and I am so excited to say that this week they took less time than they have all school year. I think Danny is getting it...Do it right the first time then you do not have to redo it! John Michael had a green face and did great on his papers. We are definitely making progress in the right direction.
So if I was not already stressed about money and brakes I get home get the main and have 2 bills from the doctors. One for me and one for Danny together they total almost $500. Add that to the $600 deductible I will have to pay for John Michael come next Friday and I am not sure at all what the heck we will do. Praying for a break from the financial burdens. This too shall pass...this too shall pass...this too shall pass...said with the ruby slippers on and clicking together.
Soccer practice this afternoon was great. They really seemed to get it and hopefully the game this weekend will show their hard work at practice. Win or lose though they are having a good time and definitely learning. All of the kids on our team are rookies and I am super proud of them no matter what! Their coaches are also extremely patient, which is a trait I wish that I had.
Well, I am trying to get the boys in bed, and I hope to follow them there soon. I need to be in bed by 9...doubtful, but hopeful.

Scout Photography

Today was a great day, I have made some progress in the office, which is definitely a good thing. I like Progress.
I started my day off going to Mass with the boys' school. I enjoy being a part of their day and spending it in Mass reminds me that there is not a better place for my boys to be. I enjoy spending the hour with them, with Jesus, and in prayer.
School uniforms are clean and ready to go for the rest of the week. I love the fact that I do not have to worry about what the boys will wear tomorrow. Uniforms are the best! Just another blessing I was counting today.
Homework is done and the boys both brought home basketball registration forms. I knew that Danny was going to play, but John Michael really wants to play too. I guess we will finish soccer and dive in head first to basketball. I am thankful that they are so involved and that they enjoy sports. While it keeps us busy it also is a lot of fun, and adds to the blessings count.
Not sure what to do about my brakes, I desperately need new front brakes and just do not have the money. Anyone out their feel like doing their good deed by doing my brakes? I could use it. I know that it will all work out, but I have no way to swing it, and with all that is going on from this weekend until Christmas having the ability to stop while driving will definitely come in handy.
So today was our second den meeting for October. We are closing the gap on getting the bear badge which makes me very proud. The boys are working hard. We will even be working at the pack meeting next week. This week, we played board games, learned some facts about Tennessee, and learned a little about photography. It was a lot of fun, and again productive. Now if I can find Danny's book so I can see where we are and what we still need that would be GREAT!!!
Well, the boys are in bed, and since it is now past 10:30 I guess I should head there myself. Prayers for you all tonight!

Christmas is Coming....in October?

So today I have a lot to get done, with the way that my sessions are taking off thanks to the Living Social Families special I am going to have very little time especially on the weekends. I am excited though as I know that it will mean wonderful things for my family.
I have been working tirelessly on getting the office done, but that meant getting the Christmas presents I already had wrapped. Today I finished those up, except for a few for the boys that I will do tomorrow. I am super excited about the progress that has been made for Christmas. Once I get some photographs finished, I will be even closer to complete. I love finishing early! Less stress is always a blessing.
While going through I have found several decorations that we purchased for the house. I have nowhere to put it up for the next few weeks so I decided to go on and start putting it out. We have 2 mirrors decorated and a few candles out. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Brandon could come home to a winter wonderland. I figure the more I get done now the less we have to do next month. We shall see how it all works out. Praying for positively.
The boys had great days at school today, which is always great to hear. We came home and knocked out homework and studying for tests. So far 2 days for 2 days of Green faces, hoping that John Michael will keep it up I know that he can.
Well, I am going back to editing and homework and I am hoping bed...soon. It is 8:15 now and I would LOVE to b there in 45 minutes but I do not think it will happen since the boys are still up. Maybe though. Praying for all of you.

Soccer Game and Living Social

So today was the first day of the Living Social ad for my Photography. I was super excited and I cannot believe that as of right now 51 have sold! I am very thankful for the increased e-mails and phone calls that have flooded me today. I am truly hopeful that it is the beginning of something amazing.
I had a session with Miss Josie today. Seeing her always makes my day brighter. We decided to go to Hewitt Trussville High School, since there was no school and their campus is gorgeous, we took advantage of it. It was great.
John Michael had a soccer game this afternoon after school. They definitely were not feeling soccer at 4:15. They get out at 2:00 on Mondays so by 4:15 they were completely done. I love watching them though, it is so much fun. Aunt B came to watch him play, he was super excited that she came. Of course she decided to venture the most dangerous way to SFX, it is all good though. She listens to her GPS like Brandon, even though he probably will not admit it. Even though they lost their game, they had a good time and I really do not think that they even care about the score.
Well, homework and editing are consuming my nights right now, but soon everything will even out. I am counting only my step forward and I hope that all of you are doing the same. Know that my prayers are with you all.

Homestead Hollow Comes to a Close

So October's Homestead Hollow is over, and I am not sure that there is anyone within 100 miles who did not make it. It was packed. The boys got a bunch of stuff while we were there. I got a couple of Christmas ornaments, and one Christmas gift. It was a lot of fun though. Danny got to help at the Hamburger Stand for a little while so he thought he was big stuff. Brandon was glad to get home and off his feet though. I am not sure that he will want to grill for a while, I know that Hamburger's will not make it to the dinner menu for a while.
Well, I was not very productive at all. Which I cannot stand. I had way too much to do and now it is all pushed back and this week leaves very little room for anything. It will all work out though.
Well, my entry is short but that is because I am beat. I am headed for a HOT shower, and then bed. Really hope that tomorrow is super productive and fun. So ready to see Beth and Miss Josie!
Know that you are all in my prayers. This is going to be a busy week, but I know that the blessings will be abundant!

Spread Thin

I love Saturdays, but they also mean that there is a lot to do and with Brandon at Homestead Hollow there really is just one of me.
I am very thankful that he is working because we desperately need the extra money, so I am not complaining. There is so much to cover and not so much to cover it with each month and with Christmas approaching way too quickly I do not think that this will change much anytime soon. Hopefully they will stay busy and he will make some decent money. They should put out a tip jar and split it between all of the workers....Hmmm? Maybe in November they can try that.
We had two birthday parties, but they were at the same time so we could only make it to one. Connor is 6, which is hard for me to believe. It means John Michael will be 6 all too soon. Connor's party was great it was at Fox's Pizza in Argo. The boys had a blast. Danny was really glad that Chandler got to come with him. They all had so much fun.
By the way the boys passed out at 2:00 this morning, and were up at 6:30. I cannot believe it. I worked all day on channeling their energy, but never got it.
Well, the Auburn game started off great, but the end left a lot to be desired. Win or Lose I love the boys in orange and blue, but I did hate to lose tonight. Another W would have been great on the esteem of these new boys. I know that they will improve though. No matter what I love to watch them and I hope that we can manage to get to Auburn for at least one game.
Well, I am off, 4 hours of sleep is nowhere near enough for me!

Extra One

So today was a pretty crazy day for me while the boys were at school, I worked on some more Christmas presents. I have to get these things done. Then I cleaned out, washed and vacuumed the van! I am super glad that it is done, now I am not so embarrassed when I go through the car pool line. I wonder how long it will stay this way.
Danny had a friend come home with him today. He and Chandler are determined to stay up all night. If John Michael would go to bed, I would go there myself, but with him up I am up too! Hopefully I can be productive. Working on pictures right now.
Brandon sent me to the store to get some junk food for the boys, I knew that it was a requirement for a girl's spend the night party but was unaware it was the same theory for the boys! Now I know.
Brandon worked at Homestead Hollow so I have sent him on to bed. Hopefully I will not be far behind.
The boys are having a blast and maybe...just maybe I will be able to accomplish something while they are playing Jackpot...sounds like they are tearing walls down.
Out for now!

Christmas and Soccer

So what do these two things have in common? My day!

I dropped the boys off this morning and came home to start wrapping. I am going to get ahead of the stuff and this is definitely the first step. I am seriously not sure how we ended up with so much. I feel like I am on an episode of hoarders. I actually got a lot done and feel a little more accomplished.

The boys' had a great day today. We had another green face. After school was soccer, which is always a lot of fun. The boys get to run off energy and I have a few minutes to just relax, walk, talk, and enjoy the day.

The boys' were super excited to find out that their Halloween costumes had arrived. They are too cute too. Danny is Captain Jack Sparrow and John Michael is Batman. They tried them on and while we were close to having to send them back they should work. They look great in them.

Well, I am off. It has been a busy day and there is a lot to do tomorrow. Cleaning out the van is one step in the day, the one that scares me the most to be honest. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Frisbee Fun

So today was sort of productive. We woke up and were in no rush until Danny's tie went missing. Fortunately it was found and we were on time, but it had us pushing it a little closer than what I like.
I was glad to be able to go to Mass with the School today. School Masses are so special and I have to admit that one activity alone makes me never question the tuition. Spending time with my boys and Jesus is very special. Today a second grader was baptised. It was such a special moment and I was glad to be there.
John Michael got a green face today so that was super awesome! I am so proud of him and decided to reward him. I talked to his teacher to let her know that we are doing all that we know how to do. I know that he can do this. He is a sweet boy, just can be overly excited sometimes.
Today was the den meeting with the Bear Cubs. We started with some serious Frisbee. It allowed them to burn some energy, which is usually good. It also helped us move closer to the badges. We also talked about Famous Americans that are also Scouts. We also decided which two folklore stories we will be telling at the den meeting. Next week we will practice. Big Foot and Ichabod Crane watch out...you are headed to the cub scout pack meeting. It should be a lot of fun.
I have been working steadily in the office but trying to go through these Christmas presents is not as easy as it sounds. I have started to wrap them to hopefully get a handle on what we have and what we need. This is probably what I will be doing tomorrow too. Christmas in October is a common theme. The good thing is when we put the trees up there will be gifts to go under them.
Editing is the other focus of my days. I have a good bit to get done and time is not cutting me any slack. I will make it happen though.
Well, I am off to bed, still not 9:00 but it is 9:40! Getting there. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers!

Terrific Tuesday

So this morning we woke up on time, not as early as I would like, but on time. This was a nice change from yesterday. YAY for good things happening. The smallest of blessings can make such a huge difference in a day and that was certainly the case today.

While the boys were in school, I scrubbed the bathrooms. I have so much to get done, but one step at a time. I am determined to make progress everyday no matter how big or small. Every step counts. I spent the rest of the day down in the office. I have so many Christmas presents already and I have to get them out of the office so we can get our office back downstairs and off our dining room table. Right now the stuff is one and I am none, hopefully I can change that tomorrow. I honestly did not remember having so much already, which is good and bad. I might have a jump start on 2012's Christmas.
Danny had a great day at school today. He likes Tuesdays because he can wear his scout uniform, which is just something different. I can understand that. I am just glad that he likes to wear it. I am hoping that I can take it to the cleaner's tomorrow and get them to correct my mishaps on his patches.
John Michael had a good day in school, but ended up with another yellow face. I know that he can behave so I am not sure what is happening with him lately. I hope and pray that tomorrow is better.
After school we had soccer practice. John Michael was super pumped that his friend Chason was practicing with him. They are awesome.
We had spaghetti for dinner and John Michael added some Halloween bling to his. Thank goodness for sprinkles! He loves to decorate his food. At least he ate it tonight, which is better than the last time he made his spaghetti sparkle.
Well, they are in bed and I am headed there too. I wanted to be in bed at 9, but 10 is better than 11. Here's to hoping I get some rest. Falling asleep and staying that way seems to be the problem. It will get better though. Please know that I am remembering you all in my thoughts and prayers. Please continue to send them up for my friend Cassandra.

Halloween Decorations

This morning started off with a mad rush to get ready and the boys to school on time. We slept in and I do not like to start any day behind, much less the whole week. We did make it to the school on time so that was a nice change of pace.

Dinner was started pretty much as soon as I got home. That is the great thing about chili. Throw it in the crock pot and forget about it, which is something I usually need.

I worked on getting some pictures edited but I still have so much to do. Watch my photography blog at http://www.monicaannephotography.com/ for more on the newest sessions that I have done. I am hoping to get caught up completely by the end of the week. We shall see what happens.

The boys had a good day at school today, which is always great for me.

Danny got his First in Math user name and password and could not wait to get home and get started on his points for this year. He loves this site and I love the fact that it is an educational site.

John Michael got a green face which meant he was ungrounded. He was super excited. Here is to hoping he keeps it up all week.

After homework was done we got to work on the Halloween decorations. Brandon got the boxes out last night before we went to bed! I was super surprised when I found them this morning. The only thing is he did not get all of the boxes. Instead of making him go through all of the boxes in the closet I will just wait and when we pull out the Christmas decorations next month and I will get them all straightened out. So they will not all be used this year, but they will be next year. The downside is my Halloween shirts are in one of those boxes. Oh well, I guess I will have to go buy that cute one I saw the other day.

Well, I am off to bed. I am super exhausted. I hope that everyone had a great Monday. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Please say a prayer for a friend of mine Cassandra. She is in critical condition and prayers are what she needs right now.

Running Around

So today started off pretty lazy. We let John Michael sleep until he woke up on his own so that he would get as much rest as he needed and so that we could check out his rash. This meant we all just sort of laid around trying to be quiet.

When John Michael got up the rash was pretty much gone. There was one little spot on his leg. I was amazed. We watched him throughout the day and he did great and it all went away. We went on and did the Benadryl again today, since it was still there this morning and the nurse said 12 hours without it and then he should be good to go. Hopefully he will not need anymore.

We do think (at least we hope) we know what he got into. Friday is when Brandon moved the TV. Since he hung it and he wall it is on is an exterior wall there was more insulation and all that fun stuff. It started on his hands and we think he must have gotten into some of that somehow. Praying that is it and that he is at the 100% mark tomorrow.

Also praying for green smileys all week...All month would be even better! I have told him that I will take him to Dairy Queen for an ice cream treat if he gets green smiley faces all week. We shall see what happens, but I know that he can do it.

We went to mom's for a late lunch early dinner. She made roast, carrots, mashed potatoes, gravy, turnip greens, and corn bread. It was very good. I do not remember the last time that she cooked like that, but I am glad that she is getting back into the habit. Margie, Logan and Mackenzie also came to eat. The kids all had a blast playing, and when they are happy I am happy.

Brandon and I ran to the store to get the stuff for chili tomorrow night and the boys stayed at mom's. It was definitely nice to get in and out of the store for under $50, something not possible when the boys are with me.

Danny went to visit Grandma, Uncle Kenny, Uncle Donnie, and Uncle Patrick. He went to sell some more popcorn for the cub scout troop. He is getting closer and closer to that $500 mark. I hope that he does not stop there, I am super proud of him for all that he has done to get it sold. Hopefully Brandon will remember to take it to work this week. We will see it could be next week.

While Danny was selling he also got the foam finger and claw that Uncle Kenny got for them at the National Championship Game in January. The boys are super pumped that they have them and cannot wait for the next game so that they can wear them. WAR EAGLE!!!

Well, we are home and the boys have eaten again, bathed and in bed so I am headed there myself. I will say a prayer for you all.

Hello October

So I am super excited about October being here. It is my favorite month of the year. Mainly because it is just about fun. I love to be able to enjoy life and while October seems to be getting busier with each passing day it is just a fun month.
I have given Brandon his reminder about getting the Halloween stuff out. I love when it is out. When it gets put up the Christmas stuff comes out, which is even better.
John Michael had a soccer game this morning. They did not win, but he had a great time, which matters the most to me. He loves soccer and did really good today. Brandon worked the concession stand this morning, we all have to do it once, so we got our turn out of the way. I know that he was glad to be in there since it was about 45 degrees and he was wearing shorts.
John Michael has broken out in the most bizarre rash. I do not know what to do. I have talked to the doctor, they said Benadryl every 6 hours. So that is what we are doing, but I am thinking we will be at the doctor either tomorrow or Monday at the latest. I will keep you updated. I am hoping that it is nothing, but I am worried. Being a mom is definitely the hardest job, but the best!
Spaghetti and meatballs were for dinner. Danny was super excited, he loves meatballs but since I make them from scratch I do not make them very often. I will get better with that. At least I will try. The good thing is we have some leftover so we will be able to have it again this week. This makes me happy because it is one day that I do not have to cook and since I need to go to the store that is always a plus.
With John Michael's rash he and I stayed home while Brandon and Danny went to Steven's birthday party to watch the Alabama game. They stayed till about half time and then came home so that I could get some help with out itchy little man. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
I will say we watched the Auburn game and while I wanted to throw something most of the time it was a great game! WAR EAGLE!!! It was so close, but sitting on the edge of the seat is somewhere I have a butt print on the couch from last year, might as well make it more indented. Weagle Weagle WDE Baby! It was a great game. As always I love seeing the boys in orange and blue take the field but when they leave with a W it is definitely even sweeter.
On that note I am off to bed. Hoping for a good night's sleep, especially for John Michael. Praying for all of my family and friends and even those I do not know.
